Who can we get from Detroit's squad ??

Post#1 » by DieselCeltic » Thu May 29, 2008 11:20 am

I think Detroit's era will finish very soon and team will break down eventually making guys available to be traded. Who would you go for..

For some reason I think Sheed would look bad ass in C's uniform. + he seems like he's very good friend with KG.

Easy now. We have not won yet.

But if they do get knocked out, I do see 'sheed being the first one shipped out if they were to have a mini-firesale.

But sheed being traded to boston doesn't make much sense. First, we don't have much to give. Second, why would they trade him to us?

If they blow it up, I would love to have Rasheed/McDyess/Ratliff.

Jarvis Hayes is a free agent and I definately think we could sign him. But at this point if we can't re sign Posey my 2/3 wish list looks like this Gomes,Pietrus,Mo Evans,Matt Barnes,Hayes.

Not exactly a big name but I dont see how we could get anyone in their core.

The players I love we can't get.

The Phantom of the Opera, Sheed or Long Arms are the 3 that I think can win titles elsewhere.

I think Detroit will run with their main core for another 2 seasons while their younger players such as Stuckey and Maxiell take a larger role and possibly move into the starting lineup.

I like Lindsey Hunter. He is very effective off the bench.

I don't think Detroit will want to keep Rasheed Wallace's expiring contract. I wouldn't be surprised if he would sign with Boston in 2009. He likes KG.

Is Diesel trying to set a record for most stupid threads started by a ball boy?

I think for the most part too. Hamliton is still consistent and young enough to be a face. B-B-Buy this flop is signed long term, so they'll probuly have a hard time moving him for anything worthwhile and just groom Stucks slowly till he gets a consistent shot. McNice would probuly retire if he thinks the team isn't going anywhere.

And Sheed is old. He'll be what 36 when his contract expires? He's playing FANTASTICALLY for a 35 year old right now. Hopefully KG can immulate him for us. But he will be 36 next year.

I think next year will be their last horrah. With Max and Stuck running up the rear with a lot more playing time.

The Nets and Detriot are stepping down. End of mini dynastys. CLE/BOS/ORL should step up in the short term. Longer term.. hard to see it is.

Looking for a safe place to respond to the OP

You get nobody from our squad because we are nowhere near the end of our run as ECF participants.

Many Detroit Fans are  over the perception of KG still being da Kid and Sheed being viewed in this forum as OLD.

KG has the type A personality on and off the court. Many boston fans are unaware that they came in the league the same year.

KG has had more injuries and the mental stress of years of loosing IMO has them at the same mental and physical age 8)

I knew that didn't sound right; Rasheed Wallace is currently 33 years old.

BTW, Nets mini dynasty stepping down? That happened about 3-4 years ago.

I wouldn't take any pistons, especially their young players (overrated garbage). Suckey, Amir "4 million per shot make" Johnson, Big Beetle Maxiell, putrid.

^^^

:lol:Greenbeans = Baskeball noob ?

Sheed has been a no worries type person all his life.

KG felt the pressure of trying to pull off the impossible and drag those T-Wolves and Flop Saunders to a chip

KG did not come to the NBA as a skilled player.
KG was put in a situation where he got quite a bit of on the job training as a skinny underdeveloped raw talent.

KG used his summers playing against the best to improve.
Flop Saunders would have been the answer to a trivia question if KG had not had that 24-7 motor of desire to be the best.
If KG had not embraced BB to the extent that he did McHale would have had to fire Flip long before he did. The T-Wolves were KG and spare parts for years. KG is just as old mentally and physically as Sheed. KG has a chance to go where Sheed's already been but from what I've seen in this series, KG's going come up short again.

The Fakers will take advantage of Boston's weaknesses and if Ainge doesn't shore up some areas this summer Detroit might face another team in the conference finals next year.

Sheed developed many of the things he learned at UNC under the tutelage of Dean Smith. Sheed appreciates his basketball gifts but never wanted to be the man. Wining means a lot to him but he has never let Basketball define who he was. Many confuse that with laziness or indifference but I am not one of them.

Oooops I forgot I only intended to chuckle at the misconception of Piston players available to become Celtics and the KG is going to lead the C's to a chip before exiting and may have overstayed my welcome.
