... what? :dontknow:

With the Spurs declining, I was wondering if the Suns would have posed a greater threat. (that is if they were of the same form as last year)

Bynum will be a much better player than Gasol. Perhaps even next year.

The story of this series is that the Lakers seem much better than the Spurs. When the Spurs played harder they seem like they could play with the Lakers. Yet when the Lakers matched the Spurs intensity they always seem to go on huge runs. They trailed by 20 and 17 and erased those leads in less than a quarter 2 times. For whatever reason when the Lakers played hard they were much better than the Spurs.

They have to hold the opposition under 100 AND score 100 or more themselves.

I'm happy TNT isn't showing the finals..I'm starting to get annoyed of Barkley and the occasional guys(Reggie, Magic), so I need a break from them..they're obviously by far the best, but too much of anything becomes boring after a while IMO..Barkley has become too much of a Lakers homer in the playoffs, and Barkley's uniqueness was something I enjoyed before..I think he's trying to kiss up to Magic for a few bucks after the casino fiasco..

Kobe has to win the title now though..leading a team to the finals isn't enough..everybody already forgot that Lebron did it last year..

I know Laker fans are getting excited for Bynum and next year's "domination", but the Lakers have to take advantage of any opportunity they get in the finals, which is something they obviously know..never assume anything is coming..injuries happen, as LA and their fans have seen with Bynum..

no, two years ago, it was scoring over 100. last eyar it was keeping the opponent 90, which almost never happened. this year it was under 100.

for all of them, they had to win.

I wrote:Lakers win in 5 either series. They just matchup MUCH better with both teams than they did the Jazz. Spurs would be the toughest draw, but still, they don't have that much offense to take it to LA the way the Lakers are playing.

One thing though, the Lakers' D has improved during the Jazz series, but expect Duncan or Paul to get the calls that Boozer/Okur and Williams didn't (constantly) get, and that could get your guys in foul trouble and disrupt your game.

I still say Lakers in 5 regardless.

Like I said, Lakers win in 5.

The fact that the Lakers have gone through the Jazz I think will help them against the Spurs. The Spurs however WILL challenge them more defensively, so they won't get as many easy layups, but will still have a huge advantage that weren't so against the Jazz. For example: The bench, which is SOOOO much better than SA's, and they'll kill them on the boards. Also, the Spurs' offense is much inferior to what the Lakers have faced. Pau matches up preatty good with Timmy, and Odom will have a big advantage feeding off Gasol against either Oberto or Kurt. I don't think the Lakers will lose in LA, and I think them taking one in SA won't be that hard.

I really, really think the Lakers have this series in 5. Spurs are old, and the Lakers are just too good, too versatile, young and with the absolute best player and MVP.

Yawn..pretty sure this is the same tripe people spewed before the Suns and Hornets series.

I wrote:Well, I'm sorry for you, but you haven't face a team as good, as balanced, as versatile than this version of the Lakers. You face a Suns team that was OLDER than you, and you beat a Hornets team that in first place wasn't as young with almost no versatility. Basically a one trick pony.

That's why it IS relevan this series. The Lakers VASTLY superior bench, their superiority on the glass, their versatility/athletism and the fact that they have the absolute best player in the league is just too much for a "less younger" San Antonio Spurs team (there, I didn't say old for you) with lessened versatility (because of the previously mentioned) and almost NO bench.

The Spurs' big 3 will have to play 40+ minutes a game just to match, while the Lakers have Vujacic, Turiaf, Farmar, Walton and now maybe even Ariza, all young, energetic and very capable bench players, that will allow Kobe and co. at least 10+ minutes of rest per game. What do the Spurs have off the bench (not counting Manu even if he is moved there)??? Senior citizen Finley, Barry and Horry?? Udoka and Bonner?? Jacke freaking Vaughn??? In reality it's not that it's a bad bench per se, but it's VERY VERY VERY MUCH subpar compared to the Lakers' bench. Not much versatility, limited athletism, no youth what so ever.

The Spurs only advantage is on D, but their offense isn't that good so it becomes relative, and the Lakers are just too good and versatile this time around that IMO will render the Spurs D somewhat innefective. Oh yeah, there's this dude on LA by the name of Kobe Bryant, and he's preatty good too...

I wrote:Is that all you got??

BTW, you still haven't disproved anything I said.

Lakers' starting 5 = Spurs' starting 5
Lakers' bench > Spurs' bench
Lakers' rebounding > Spurs' rebounding
Lakers' D < Spurs' D
Lakers' O > Spurs' O
Kobe > Anyone on the Spurs

That basically sums it up. Oh yean, and the Lakers in 5.

Magz50 wrote:I haven't responded because your claims are ridiculous and extremely biased. Last time i checked the Spurs are the defending champs.

This series is alot more complicated than the stupid ">" kinda argument.

For starters, the Spurs play off Duncan. Gasol will have to play him one on one for the Lakers to have a chance, that or the Spurs shooters have an off game. Otherwise the lakers are screwed. The Spurs defense will keep them in the game, so if the Lakers can stop TD getting his rhythm then they will beat the Spurs. If they can't do that then the Spurs will win everytime. Manu and Kobe will cancel each other out. Parker will destroy whomever the Lakers put on him, but Odom will probably put up decent numbers IF he can consistently hit open J's. If he tries to go down low vs Kurt or Oberto he's gonna get stopped. Gasol is gonna have a hard time scoring on TD but i'm sure he'll get his 20/9 every game. As for benches, you're seriously underrating the Spurs bench. Guys like Udoka and Finley have come up huge so far in the playoffs. Did you not watch the Suns series when Finley nailed a game tying 3? He didn't look so old then. Udoka has been very solid for the Spurs, hitting big buckets and making great defensive stops. Barry has been used sparingly so he should be fresh, same as Vaughn and Stoudamire. horry will play with fire vs his old team make no mistake about it.

Look both teams are well equipped to win, it really will be a game of making shots. Lakers have a slight edge on offense and the Spurs have the edge on D. So bring it on.

Man was I right!!

I'm sorry, but you got pwned.

Oh and to NO-KG-AI, who "Lol"ed at me for saying LA's rebounding > the Spurs', yeah, LOL. I guess the fact that LA basically outrebounded the Spurs during the series means nothing ehh???

What y'all have to say now???
