disagreeing in :

Long Range shooting : Rose has a better shot now and a much better chance at getting it off against NBA competition, Rubio basically has a set shot with a slow release and limited range.

mid range : same problem, though not as obvious.

I'm from Spain, but nowadays Rose is a better basketball player than Rubio. It must be said that Rubio is still 17, and we should be talking about a HS player instead of a guy who plays with success against the toughest european competition, but, at the moment, there shouldn't be any discussion about it: Rose is the best basketball player of the two.

However, I see Rubio as a better PG in just 4-5 years from now. Intelligence is a very important factor when talking about pg's, and there are very, very few professional pg's that can already compare to Rubio at it. You can teach a player how to play, what to do with the ball, how to move without it... but Rubio's basketball IQ is simply off the charts, once in a decade. He makes plays that you'd only expect from just a few smart veterans...

Maybe he's not the best shooter (day after day his shot keeps improving) and maybe he's not the most athletic guard (while being a quite good all around athlete)... but he's a big PG with an uncommon basketball IQ who plays terrific defense. In my language that's a champ PG.

I'm not sure who i would want.. I think they will be the two point guards along with Deron/CP3 to be the next wave of nba point guards.. there was nash/gp/kidd/stockton

now i think it will be CP3/Rose/Williams/Rubio.

So few people can actually give an educated response to a post like this. Besides YouTube videos and reading various scouting reports, very few of us have actually seen Rubio in a game.

Agreed. Still, from the highlights I've seen, Rubio gets virtually no elevation on his jumpers, and also gets basically no lift when going in for layups. I see him having a lot of trouble scoring in the NBA.

I want to see you say that next time there is a Steve Nash thread, mention that exact same thing and tell people that he is unsuccessful because he has terrible lift on his layups and no elevation on his shots.

This just in, Chris Paul is very successful despite being 5'11", so being 5'11" is no longer a concern for PG prospects . . .

I heart both Rubio and Rose, but Rose is clearly the better prospect. He is bigger, more athletic, and quicker. Both have a great feel for the game. Rubio has a Ginobli-esque feel for the game, but Rose is an athletic monster. Both are great, but Rose is greater.
