AJ:"I'm Western Conference," he said. "I'm Popovich. I'm for him, for Texas and for the Spurs."

Just my opinion, but I think it's more of a trend for European players to just forget about the NBA and play overseas because they can flat out make more money and then later if they want to challenge themselves maybe come to the NBA later in their career just for the heck of it and say that they did.
Hopefully the spurs find a way to replace him and reload at that position.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

well money(among lesser things) was obviously the issue, but I'm sure if the NBA was actually his dream, he would have taken less money to come play and prove himself for more $ and respect..
IMO, it's a matter of a pussy being scared to play with the big boys..**** Splitter..
hopefully RC can actually live up to his reputation in the off-season coming up and actually get some young talent around our star players..if he doesn't make any good moves in this off-season, I wouldn't mind seeing him go..maybe it's just me though..

I can't blame him... he is right now Spain's highest paid basketball player...
exactly. you cant blame a guy for taking nearly 8 times the salary and being the man on a team where he has already helped lead them to a championship.
if someone told you that you could make 100k right now where you are, or move to budapest and make 16k for a couple of years, and then maybe they'd give you a raise, what would you do?

I love throwing away first round picks.
I I said in the other thread, I don't want anybody here who doesn''t think he's ready to be the best in the big boy league.
Agree w/ Spurs Front Office being overrated. I've said it before and I've said it again and I'll say it again again. We have not had a worthwhile draft pick since Tony Parker in '01.

I think we will and have to this year... there's just several nice prospects around where we'll pick, and that are fitting for us.

Bad news for us but i'm not blaming RC on this one. He took the BPA even though there was some risk involved in picking him. Really at 28 there were no one else worth while. If Tiaggo was coming over he would be one of the biggest steals of the 07 draft. It was one of those situations where the possible reward was high and the risk was fairly low.
