The Bucks are listening to offers on their veteren big men, Joe Smith, and Kurt Thomas. Becuase of Kurt's contract he would be more difficult to get, and a pick or good prospect would need to be involved. Mo Williams is being shopped for a good young point guard, and salary relief. Picks and prospects would also be welcome. Martell Webster and Antonio Daniels would be moved for a definant point guard upgrade. We want someone who is efficent, and can score when they are called upon. Houston's 2008 2nd is availible, and could be packaged in the right deal. The Bucks have also placed Ramon Sessions on the block, but offers not involving definant upgrades, or good prospects/picks will not be accepted. Corey Maggette is also on the block, I am looking for "upgrades" at point guard and/or prospects/picks, a decent backup small forward, and salary relief would not be too shabby either.

What was initially cited as a move initiated due to low attendance and plummeting revenue has now been termed as a move to a bigger, unique and strategic market. Vancouver brings with it a very diverse, ethnically-rich basketball audience and the marketability of being potentially Canada's only other basketball city besides the Toronto Raptors. The move has been described as "finalized" by the organization and the Hornets are scheduled to open the coming in their new home-city.

The NBA's Board of Commissioners (newly established) voted yesterday on the issue of moving the New Orleans Hornets to Vancouver, with a unanimous decision in favour of keeping the team in New Orleans.

Head commissioner bryant08 stated, "I don't know why you would move a team from a city like New Orleans. A city that has gone through so much recently, the Hornets mean a lot to the city and the league in general."

After the NBA commissioner insisted that the Hornets will not be moving to Vancouver, the Hornets GM, Raptors90102, lashed out at the newly appointed head of the NBA. In an exclusive interview with ESPN, the GM pointed out that moving a franchise is the decision of the ownership of the Hornets and is in the best interest of the organization both; financially and geographically. The GM was quoted as saying, "Although we appreciate what this city has meant to our organization over the past few years, but we feel this is the right time to make a move, to position ourselves for a better future. An NBA franchise is not just about basketball, there's a business side to it as well and must be run as a business. We have a deep emotional attachment with the city of New Orleans but sometimes tough decisions have to be made. As for the commissioner's disapproval of this move, there's no law in the constitution of this league that empowers the commissioner to undermine the basic rights of an NBA franchise's ownership group. We have factual numbers and figures to prove that the move will not only be beneficial to use financially but will also help us strategically place ourselves in a bigger market which will inturn enhance the Hornets brand. In addition, it will bring more exposure to the NBA and its brand. We intend to go ahead with the move and are willing to fight for our right of looking out for a safe, financial longterm future of the franchise.
