Official Juventus FC Thread

Had to start up a thread for my favorite team. After signing Amauri earlier this summer, we're getting Xabi Alonso now who's set to sign early next week.

Also could use one world class defender this summer and another world class midfielder. Van Der Vaart for instance would be terrific.

Juve fan here too, living about 50miles from Turin
Amauri should be real good for us next year and Van der Vaart would be terrific, let's hope the front office's less stingy this offseason...

tkb, excellent EXCELLENT idea!!!

i'm really excited for next season, juve did great with a "limited" squad last season but with the signings juve is doing i think they are really aiming in doint a great champions league.

van der vart and alonso would be great additions to the team.

i still think they need to get a CB.

Yea all these rumors of them getting more strikers is stupid when they have more than enough...Del Piero, Trezeguet, Amauri, Iaquinta, Palladino

I love Legrottaglie but i'm not sold on him or Andrade yet.

and the outside backs are the worst compared to all the other top teams in Europe...Grygera, Molinaro, Zebina, (and sometimes Salihamidzic who basically plays every position). De Ceglie (age 21) is also coming back from loan from Siena and should be an upgrade over Molinaro on the left.

I love the fact that we are going for Aquilani from AS Roma, but don't seem like they are interested at all in selling him. We offered something like Iaquinta + Marchionni + 10 million euros for him and they still declined the offer if I'm not mistaken. Aquilani + Xabi Alonso at CM would be very nice so hopefully Roma budges.

Agree wholeheartedly about getting a top notch CB. Too bad Barzagli signed with Wolfsburg because he'd be a nice fit. In a prefect world, we'd get two world class CBs to put Chiellini at LB where he's at his best. Having said that, if the Grosso rumors turn into him getting signed I'd be more than happy about playing Chiellini at CB.

Don't see why we're in the David Villa race. He'd be a fantastic signing, don't get me wrong, but we have bigger holes to fill.

Read that we wanted him on a couple sites earlier, but also read that if we're unable to get him we were going for De Ceglie. Since De Ceglie is already signed, I guess we won't get Grosso.

Hi all , Juve fan from Bulgaria here .

Juve needs one good CM , i prefer Aquilani / young , italian , rising star / , but Xabi would also work just fine . Remember we have Sissoko .
The other problem is the left back . The plan is to get Grosso after the Euros / Lyon wants 10 mil E/ and sell Molinaro . We bought for 3,5 mln the other 50 % of De Ceglie i hope that this means something .

I don't beleive Juventus has the money to buy Van der Vaart or Diego or any superstar right now .

Hi there,
I don't like Grosso so much, he's great in short turneys like the worldcup but he lacks consistency during long stretches in high competitive leagues. He hardly played last year for Inter, and France's Ligue 1 is just a little above Italy's SerieB.

The latest news have Trezeguet packing his bags for good and I'm OK with it (if it happens) he's been great for Juve but it's time to move on, Amauri is a very similiar player and is younger.

well, losing trezegol would be tough for juve. of course amauri is there, but now that juve is playing champions league having a very talented and deep attack could be benefit the juve in all 3 tournaments.

any rumors to where he could be going?

Barcelona for 20 million euros are the rumors I've read regarding Trezeguet. Also read that Juve will go for Huntelaar for 18 million euros with the funds a Trezeguet sale gives us.

Also read that we might go after Cassano since his buy out clause is only 15 million euros.

In that case , why the hell did Juventus buy Amauri for 22 mln ? Trezeguet is worth atleast 25 mln , if Barca offers a bid near 30 mln i'm sure Trezegoal will go to Spain .

No news about Xabi becomming a bianconero .

That's the main concern for me too, but Juve won't be competive in all three: as usual they'll try a shot at the Champions League while playing decent-to-good in the league's first half. Nobody gives a crap about the Coppa Italia anyway :D

Then, if CampsLeague's position is still good at the end of '08, they'll focus on that, or turn back to SerieA. Historically, the front office doesn't want to spend big and assemble something too tiring on the wallet like Chelsea, M-UTD or R.Madrid.
