It was one of the worst defensive plays in the history of the NBA...

it was so funny watching Allen glide pass him, all Sasha did was stand and tried to swat at the empty space that was was in between him and Allen

When Ray Allen made the lay-up, Vujacic was still standing at the foul line. He didn't even trail the play after getting beat - he just quit. If he merely stayed a stride behind Allen after getting toasted (behind his left hip), maybe Allen wouldn't have felt comfortable going to the lefty lay-up. Maybe he would have stayed with the right hand on the front side of the rim and maybe we're talking about Gasol's great block today.

Sometimes you get beat, but don't quit on the play entirely. And then don't try to say you were worried about picking up a foul because the refs were mean to you by not letting you use your Scissor 4 Leg Lock move 45 minutes ago. Hell, the first 20 seconds of that possession, starting with the inbounds pass, he was bodying up Allen non-stop, looking for a reach-in, so he clearly wasn't that worried about a foul.

Case in point Sasha Vujacic, I mean what a difference a game makes. 2 Days ago I was talking about how he saved that entire series. They were making plans to erect a Sasha statue in front of staples, right next to Earv's. That is, until he went with the parting of the red sea defense on ray allen, and let shuttlesworth ice it with that layup. Sasha looked like a guy fearing for his life and desperately trying diving out the way of a reckless driving try to run him down on the road.

Is that your idea of defense, jumping out the way of your man and then yelling, "Help, Foul!" While knowing the guy behind you is too soft to do either. I mean seriously its not like allen broke out some mixtape moves and went hot sauce on the guy. He didn't even cross him over he snapped both his ankles with a little hesitiation move. Barry Sanders in his prime didn't shake guys that badly.

Terrific post. Agreed on all counts. This dude does nothing but hack guys all game every game all season, and then has the AUDACITY to talk about the officiating? Dude acts like he had 5 fouls. And then to complain about the foul he was whistled for where the replay showed an INTENTIONAL scissor-kick takedown of Allen? Wow...

Who would have guessed that a 38 year old alien plays too rough for the machine?

Well what can you expect when he was made in the same country that manufactured the Yugo

The Machine is intentionally playing bad so next year he doesn't have to get payed that much. What a team player.

its actually the la daily news.

either way, like u mentioned, he never said they played too rough, he said they get away with fouls like illegal screens.

saying they play too rough insinuates that he's physically/mentally weak and can't handle the celtics superior strength.

saying they get away with fouls says that he doesn't feel like he's being treated fairly.

its a big difference that the wiretap gods should have been more responsible with. yeah thats the title that the la daily news has, but realgm always has wiretap headlines that don't match the articles title so its not out of the realm of possibility that realgm fix this misquote.

I haven't really read much of this thread but I can't help but feel pissed off each time I see the title multiple times a day.

Vujacic is such a pussy. He intentionally tangles legs with Ray Allen so he can't get up, then complains about this crap? He'll be out of the league in 2 seasons.
