You're right E11. We've had the 3G technology over here for quite some time now, and that was one of the major flaws with the iPhone 1.0 with regards to Europe. No Norwegian company ever made a deal with Apple to sell the first gen, but some people bought it over in the states and unlocked it so they could use it with any operator.

There are still things the new iPhone is missing (like image messaging etc.) but it's by far the best compromise for my use because of the iPod function. Been using iPods for a long time, and not having to carry around an extra unit is great.

Kno, yeah, many reports in the media about the price increase in the new AT&T plans. AT&T pays apple a heavy subsidy for each iphone, so they have to make it back on the subscription - I think it's been reported that in return for the heavy subsidy, AT&T retains all or most of the profits on the subscription plan.

It makes sense for both Apple and AT&T, since the entry to iphone market has been significantly lowered - many more people will pull the trigger because it's only 200 bucks up front.

But the 3G technology is a major upgrade. Much faster loading times for web pages.

What bothers me a bit is that the $10 dollar increase in the data plan isn't the worst part. Considering the price difference between the phone models, you only play about $40 bucks more over 2 years for the 3G.

The worst part is that I've read AT&T isn't including text messaging. So that's at least $5 or $10 more per month, based on usage. The hell?

And the phones have to be activated in the store, so the lines are going to be a bitch of a wait.

Interesting song I thought I'd share with you guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD3r5C1h0gw

It's by a female rapper in Korean named Tasha Reid. She's half black and half Korean. The song is called "Kum Eun Heng Bok" or "Black Happiness," and it talks about her experience growing up facing racism in Korea. With the Hines Ward situation bringing attention to some of that, I thought you guys might enjoy listening to this. She's got some sick flow IMO. Translated lyrics on the side.

Did Brian Eno work with them on it? Brian Eno's work sounds real boring to me for the past few years.

Coldplay is so...bland, so Britney Spears. Life is too short to make music half-assed.

Better than Coldplay is the Cold War Kids, from Southern California, holla! They performed here in NYC last night.

Now that brings the funk.

That's just sick.

Sedition, interesting about that girl rapper. I knew of Amerie, who was featured on some big albums, but didn't know of a rapper. More power to them.

Being the curious person I am... I really want to know if those two really are married with 7 kids.

Wow, just turned on the news.

Reported over 1,000 individual fires in Northern/Central California, Bush declared state of emergency, many out of state firefighters are helping at the moment.

I was only half-kidding. I just like to diss Coldplay because theyr'e so successful and everywhere, and yeah, their music is kinda boring to me. I'm sure they have some good songs.

You check out those links to the Cold War Kids? Tell me that's not tasty.

Yeah, that's crazy. I hope they get that under control. Is it just me, or is anybody else disturbed by the frequency of these natural disasters/emergencies?

Like a "Day After Tomorrow" or the book of Revelation, Miles? I kinda feel that way... not that I expect the world to end soon, but something along those lines.

Bring it on God. The sooner this happens, the sooner I get to leave this dustball and live in Paradise forever. However let me turn your attention to two USA Network shows. In Plain Sight and Burn Notice. Both shows look pretty good (with Burn Notice being awesome, BTW), and for some odd reason I've gone out of my spectrum to become very attracted to the leading women in both series.

Mary McCormack is really hott to me in a tomboyish kind of way, and I don't understand this. Same as Gabrielle Anwar. Normally I wouldn't be hott for her (Gabrielle's) type, but this show is making her into a bonafide babe. That's the kind you rough up in the bedroom. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah, I think we've abused mother earth so much, she finally started hitting back — pretty hard, too. It's time to tune in or turn in. Probably won't happen in our lifetime, but we have to start making great changes or our kids will be fried in the Sun, drowned in floods or burnt by wildfires. We can do it.

In related news, the sun will shine and the weather will be perfect here in LA tomorrow again. I can either take my AC equipped V6 to a wonderful day at the beach with the family or I can join a protest march against foreign oil dependency and global warming. Hmm. I think I'll just hang out in our back yard with my son. How can I sleep tonight? Thanks guys.

What up Mangs, Sorry I have been in here posting , but I've been busy a bit.
For starters, I was playing BBall and I went down to grab a ball going out of bounds and the smallest guy on the court jumps up in the air and sticks his knee right into my right eye and knocks me the ***** out ....
I was out for 30seconds or so according to my boys.
I guess I got a light concusion and when I came around I had a mean old cut on my right eye, got 4 stiches and had mean old shinner on my right eye.
The swealing came down a bit now but Im barley getting over it and Im cool now.
But its sort of crazy having a shinner on my face after all these years.
I remember the last one I got was when I was 13, when I got jumped in my old neighborhood by a couple of dirt bags, but one thing about it, Im getting a lot of love from the ladies for it....

I'm a former rerecording mixer but nowadays exclusively a composer/producer again. So, yeah. I'm a sound engineer. Cool! Where do you mix and tech? PM me if you want discretion.

Although I'm a composer, I mix music every day. And, I'm actually going to mix the live sound for a show at the Red Rocks Colorado this summer. Haven't done live sound since 1993. Should be fun ;-)

We can talk audio tech in this thread, now. Nice!
