Well, the runner that did score in that game got on base by an "error" even though it was obviously a hit. That ball had the most crazy spin I have ever seen in my life. No way is that a normal ball to field. Let me try to find a video.

1:25 mark. Look at that spin when it hits the ground. That's a hit.

Haha, very nice! But no hot nursies in New Jersies.

I got one for you:

on sunny shores lands the longboat
man forgoes the axe for the note.
foes are fought with class
woes made naught at last
A lass to love, a babe to tote.

erik, are you a sound engineer? i am both an ae and a tech here in l.a.
I'm a former rerecording mixer but nowadays exclusively a composer/producer again. So, yeah. I'm a sound engineer. Cool! Where do you mix and tech? PM me if you want discretion.

Although I'm a composer, I mix music every day. And, I'm actually going to mix the live sound for a show at the Red Rocks Colorado this summer. Haven't done live sound since 1993. Should be fun ;-)

We can talk audio tech in this thread, now. Nice!
lots of freelance stuff, ive engineered at record plant, ocean way, the village, sunset sound, ohenry, yada yada, and ive built and wired a few rooms too...

i always wanted to do live sound, in fact i feel if america had a proper union, or something like that, all studio cats would be required to do a year of touring and foh, monitor mixes etc, the trenches indeed...

you ever hang out at gearslutz, or psw, or the womb any of those places?

Nice, miles. Thank you.

I thought you were moving to Oregon or Phil's attic in Carlsbad. ;-) OK, one more:

Seriously, though. No time to lose, miles! Now is your chance. Give it your best shot. You never know when you'll meet whom, and what it'll (she'll) bring. An opportunity like this is just too precious to pass up. Go, and make it meaningful. It's urgent. Once you have a family, you won't get much alone time with the creative process. the l.a. kings hockey board is a funny place... well any of the hockey forums... as far as I can tell I'm alone in a cavernous board, but people are lurking and viewing the articles I post. At this point, I'd take a flame war or two.

Haha, that's funny. Just keep posting, man. All you need is a few new posters. Start a thread called "New recruits, introduce yourselves here!", or something.

Haha. Go get 'em!

Rhyming makes me long for Christmas. My tradition is to sit up the night before with my brother. We drink lots of Eggnogg and Swedish Glögg, and write dirty-mouthed rhymes for stupid presents for our girls and laugh ourselves silly into the wee hours. Good times.

One thing that is often forgot about when it comes to the Vikings is how dearly they valued writing verse. Usually, their chief's first comment after a hard-fought battle came in form of a rhyming verse. Often, it was only a few short lines, but it summarized what had happened, what/whom they lost/gained et cetera. If someone had something to add, that too was delivered in a rhyming verse form, on the fly. No, I'm not claiming that the Vikings invented the rap, but they sure sustained its very old ancestry.

Shows you how valuable reflection is to us.

Did you read the Longships yet? Maybe I've asked before.

Did you visit it at night? Its a beautiful sight.

Also, the next Nokia Theatre is looking badass. Its right across the street (across the statue, so im assuming you noticed it). Did you get to visit it?

Well. thanks for the advice man! Anyways I'm from an electrical engineering background so I might not be as near to the creative side as you guys do. I might be looking more at a signal processing oriented job, may be a little more involved in the technical side.

I'm also looking at the Creative Engg. program in USC, which seems pretty interesting. Do you have anyone working with you from similar backgrounds and what kind of work do they normally do?

I also have a pretty decent experience in video editing and sound mixing but I have mostly done amateur jobs for my university so thats how I got interested in this field.

No, did I tell you? I ordered it off one of the sellers on amazon, and according to him, it got lost in the mail. I got a refund, but didn't get around to ordering it, especially since I hit a dry spot with my writing. But thanks for reminding me on both points.

Seeing you finish your book has really inspired me. I need to get my priorities in order.
