Dante Hall to the Rams
In return, the Chiefs receive a 5th rounder. The teams also swap third-round picks.
I mean, I know Hall's lacking at receiver skills, but that's all they got for him?

I bet if we made this same thread about Hester, everyone would cream themselves saying it was a steal by the Rams.
This guy is like 3rd all time in kick returns or something of the sort.

Of course it would be, Hester has less mileage on the odometer. That and he might become of some use at CB.
But regardless, IMO, the perceived value of a KR/PR by the media and fans alike is highly overrated, and that's why I think even a 5th rounder is a bit too much for Hall...

I think Hall has to make the team due to fanfare and excitement... if nothing else, he's going to make kickoffs exciting for St. Louis, and will likely break one or two in the coming year.
That said... kickoffs happen about 3-4 times a game, punts that are returnable, maybe 2-3... so is giving a 5th rounder and switching 3rds really underpaying for a guy who might touch the ball 5-7 times per game? Keep in mind that most punters learned to kick away from Hall, and a lot of teams did pooch kicks against the Chiefs to avoid Hall... so he's not all that difficult to take out of the game either. I think the Rams may have overpaid

Hester is younger and better, why wouldn't people think it was a steal?
I always felt like Hall created more on his returns than Hester. No doubt Hester was great, but he also had great blocking. (we can all agree good blocking is the most important part, which is why both guys succeeded ultimately)
Some of Hall's returns are just unreal.
Edit: After doing some research, I can't believe the small number of returns Hester actually had, that is UNREAL.
