The draft being restarted is about as likely as Dwight Howard becoming Wimbeldon Champion...don't freak kiddies. Besides, you don;t hear much of it, but Iraq has been a lot better recently, we need to move our guys out of there and back to Afganistan. Thats where they are needed. Let Iraq rott.

Having said that, well played, sir. Tip of the hat.

In the 1950's about 10% of male Ivy league graduates served in the military because of the draft. Now, it's about 0.1% through volunteerism. Clearly the military suffers from a reduced quality of its soldiers because it is a volunteer army; particularly in times of war. This is a ying-yang issue. Quality vs. motivation.

interesting.

say, any studies you can recommend documenting the "clear" reduction in troop quality since we scrapped the draft?

But as for the photo of President Bush with Frm. Prime Minister Blair, Bust did not order a draft. It was widely reported that even though Blair took Bush to a pub and had a pint himself, Bush ordered a soda. Bush has not drank any alcohol in about 20 year.

heh.

Howard Mass wrote:They would never bring back the Draft. The young voters would really come out in droves against it.

If he did try it, his approval might actually get below 20 percent.

Yes, please. There's room for all. Except haters.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
