Amick at the Bee said something about Petrie being on vacation right now. Who would have thought right? Serious business in Kings land and he's off in the Bahamas sunning himself.

Don't think that would stop something from happening. Deals have happened in the summer when he was "on vacation" before. My guess is that if it is true, the details and/or filler guys are being hashed out.

Insofar as what this does for us, I REALLY like the addition of Princes' transition D ability and offside shotblocking.

Did you just say a NBA players game is "adorable"?! :o

Yeah - I like to mix up my vocabulary, rather than saying "love" or "really like" all the time.

I understand the surprise by you in the way of that it's unique to be used in this kind of context, but really it's just a way of saying you're really into something.

Not the first time I've used it relating to enjoyment of something to basketball.

Yeah, what the f*** Petrie, vacation now? Of all times? Now?

You couldn't go in say November or October, its even a lot cheaper then, now is probably like 3rd or 2nd worst time for a vacation. Come onnnn

I can see the headline now: "Prince moves out of the Palace and becomes a King."

No way the Pistons do that deal. Prince for Artest + filler. I WISH KT would be included, but there's absolutely no way they would take him AND turn it into an expiring, good player like McDyess.

Yeah if we are trading for this much value no way we can trade Kenny too. The only reason LA would have to take him on is because....well....it's the Lakers duh!

This deal is as much about cap flexibility as it is anything else for the Pistons. Adding Kenny would severely hinder them in the cap department. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pistons re-sign Ron next year and then go out and add a guy like Okafor up front.

if true i hope Joe don't **** it up by asking for too much, lol.

Won't happen with Garcia in the deal... I'd definitely be surprised on that....

I still am doubting it happening in general

oh yeah, i'm definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt but until it happens theres always skepticism with me. this whole thing just boggles my mind, just the fact that its even possible with our "boring and 'cool'" team with such a vindictive owner... ahhh :)

Next!!!

Artest/Douby or Williams should be more than enough to get the deal done. The most I would go is add Salmons from our side and Maxiell from the other. I'd do that one.

the deal SHOULD be:

Artest/Shelden for Prince/Maxiell

I actually think Geoff might be waiting to make a move because he wants to see if one of the FAs like Okafor, Smith, Deng, etc. take the QO. It'd help him decide between Prince or getting expiring contracts.

Ok here is an update:

Pistons want Garcia with Artest... Kings say GTFO or give us Maxiel with Prince... Pistons say No way.

Its pretty serious, but its a stalemate... more players might get included to satisfy both sides.

Coming for Detroits beat writer Keith Langlois

Coming from Sacramento this week was a report that the Pistons were pursuing Ron Artest of the Kings. Don’t hold your breath. Joe Dumars has carefully crafted a healthy locker room environment. He’ll roll the dice occasionally on players that others, at least, view skeptically from a character standpoint. But Artest? It’s highly unlikely the Pistons would go there.

Nah this is legit, I knew about this even before Amick reported it.
