Are the Wizards doing anything....

Post#1 » by Wiz Fo Champz » Tue Jul 29, 2008 2:26 am

I haven't heard anything in over a week, contacting devin brown's agent to tell him we have slight interest doesn't count. The Wizards have 1.5 million dollars to use and there are plenty of free agents who we could add to improve our roster. Is Ivan Carter on vacation or something because he hasn't made a post in his Wizards insider blog for a while now. I hope adding Dee Brown wasn't the only improvement we decided to make this off-season while other teams have been very active. I understand that we had to re-sign Arenas and Jamison but c'mon, we haven't made any real additions to the rotation since the '06 off-season with DeShawn.

Has anyone heard anything about the Wizards being interested in any free agents?

The team you see now is the team you'll be seeing in October, for better or worse (or same, in all likelihood).

What? We signed 2 all stars during the off-season and you ungrateful donkeys (no disrespect to Donk) want more?!?!?

Seriously though, what realistic moves/ signings are you guys expecting?

No player is going ( or was ever going) to sign here for a discount and there's no one left on the open market that we can afford that would have any kind of significant impact. If we can fit someone in under the lux tax, then cool, but I'd prefer to stash that cash away for when someone inevitably goes down with an injury during the season.

But yeah, I really wish EJ/ Abe would just throw some cash at someone (Anyone!) just to appease the disgruntled. It just makes too much sense not to.

As MJG said this is the roster that's starting the season. And considering the circumstances surrounding Gil and AJ this off season, I'm cool with that.

The masses are growing restless. Chilax, stroll into my archives...take a load off. EJ will be fired soon...so be happy. Enhance your calm.

Dee Brown is the final piece to the puzzle. Didn't you guys realize that.

Nick Young is Jordan like.

Dom McGuire is Dennis Rodman without red hair.

Andray Blatche is Hakeem Olajuwon & Kevin Garnett wrapped into one.

OPec is a younger version of Mehmet Okur.

Javale McGee is...well the first Javale McGee!

Just look at this lineup:

Antwan Jamison > Mehmet Okur > Darius Songaila
Caron Butler > Dennis Rodman
Brendan Haywood > Hakeem Garnett > Etan "The D. Howard Stopper" Thomas > J. McGee
DeBuckets Stevenson > Michael Jordan
Gilbert Arenas > Antonio Daniels > Devasting Dee Brown

Were friggin loaded. Do we really need anything else? I think not.

Wizards off seasons are always boring. I wish Dan Snyder owned this team. At least we'd be offseason champs.

Hey, at least we didn't sign Kwame....sometimes no move is better than an awful move like that...

I don't think EG will do much more this offseason. I think he rather wants to wait and see how a healthy Wiz-Team can compete, and if necessary he will do some moves next offseason or the one after.

But I also think that EG isn't that guy who does a lot of Blockbuster Trades. He does a good job, but if the Wiz don't improve, he's got to be active.

We'll see...

EG got DeShawn on the cheap, I'm sure he's holding that million or so he's got in his back pocket on the off chance he can catch someone else in a similar situation. Otherwise you're not going to get anyone really helpful with that kind of money, might as well hold onto it and see what comes up during the season.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Why are we bringing Michael Jordan off the bench? I think he would be more valuable as a Starter than a 6th man type.

jordon is foolish and ballhoggedy. He's no John Starks, who's powerful and handsome.

Dat, I had no idea that "winning an argument" with me was so important to you that you'd still be bragging about it almost a week later. Who knew.

Well, I'm honored to be held in such high regard.
