Nice sized righty with a strong fastball and a killer curve. The limited pitching experience in the minors worries me a bit, he has some arm soreness to start last season but that may have worked out for the best to help limit his innings increase. Should be slated around 140-150 innings in High A. Needs to work on his change and stay healthy to hit his innings mark but he should be one of Tampa's best prospect.

YTD: 1.11 ERA, 40.2 IP, 34 hits, 1 HRA, .222 BAA, 49/3 K/BB

No, that is not a type, a 49/3 K/BB rate.

At least I got one guy right. Rizzo was playing well but has been inactive as of late. Henry Sosa has pitched one inning thus far this season and Daniel Cortes hasn't pitched in weeks so I don't know what's up. mahalo

I see where I was confused. He pitched 1.1 innings on November 10th, for some reason I thought it was this season. Any word on why he hasn't pitched yet? He pitched in the Cal League last season so he seems a bit advanced for developmental time in Extended Spring Training. mahalo

He injured his knee in the offseason and had surgery. He's probably out for a while.

Better than an arm injury.

Anthony Rizzo has Hodgkin's Disease. Sounds like the chances are good that he will recover but it just sucks for an 18 year old kid to get stuck with something like that. Good luck bud. mahalo

id like to give a congrats to matt harrison for his no hitter yesterday

one of the worst statlines for a no hitter ive seen but a no hitter none the less. he walked 6 guys and hit a guy and threw a 120 pitches, o and it was game 1 of a DH so in the minors that game is only 7 innings.

but a no hitter none the less

and b/c this player is a total badass i had to post this picture

:o

Whats the word on his defense? He's just crushed the ball at every single level he's played.

And for Chach, Henry Sosa will make his debut on Sunday for Single A San Jose. He'll be on a 50-75 pitch limit from what I've heard.

well taylor teagarden and jarrod saltalamacchia are both better defensively (as is gerald laird but everyone expects him to get traded eventually)

he's started taking grounders at 1st base especially if the offense at that position doesnt improve. he'll probably end up dh'ing and maybe being a backup catcher, maybe he'll learn how to play the OF.

whatever he is i just dont wanto trade him, id rather trade teagarden

btw the guy that bats behind him (and is killing the ball too) Chris Davis just got promoted

Wow, I'm too good at this.

Andrew Lambo, Danny Duffy, Nick Noonan, Peter Bourjos, Angel Castillo all tearing **** up. You know you wish you had my eye for talent.

How is Bourjos tearing it up? His OPS is .017 lower than league average and he is afraid of taking a walk. Angel Castillo is so good he got manhandled in full season ball, he sure is showing rookie ball who's boss though.

Angel Castillo is only 19 years old with 11 homeruns in that league (second I think behind someone older).

And Bourjos is in a massive slump right now. But before he was hitting .350's with great stolen base rate.

They're both Angels prospects...Angels don't walk till they get in AAA. See Sean Rodriguez and the #1 prospect in baseball Brandon Wood.
