If Josh Smith ends up going to Memphis I think that this could work out for both teams. But I doubt that Memphis would go with it because both Mihm and Walton have significant injury risks.
Edit:
I stand corrected, the Hawks matched.

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
When he heard he was traded, he thought he was heading to Southern California. Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld.com reports: ”Artest explained that he learned of the trade while playing basketball in New York, when a friend told him he’d been traded he immediately assumed it was to the Lakers.”
If you listen to the podcast, you’ll hear Artest call out Yao Ming for being a mouthpiece of corporate sponsors. Are you sure you wanted him to be traded to the Lakers?

Let's see how Ron plays this year out. He may very well push for a trade deadline deal.. but honestly his act is rubbing the wrong way. It's not coming off tough, it's coming off "in need of medication"

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
Last feasible trade that was discussed heavily involved R. Artest....
In light of the report out, Dallas is not looking or may not consider re-signing J.Kidd to a long extension, how would that impact the LAkers? Would they consider trading away maybe conditional draft picks? I don't know how this will work, but could it? The only forseeable trading pieces that I'd consider moving, would be Vlad Rad, Mihm, Luke and perhaps LO with an outside chance of Farmar.
If this would be possible, how do you fellas think it can happen? Or could it happen? Considering Cuban is very anti-LAkers.

jason kidd is a terrible fit all around. way too expensive, way too old, and terrible fit on the court.

I understand he's expensive, but aren't his skills and ability Triangle friendly? I still see him running an offense with a consistent flow.... But, I see your point and disagree with everything BUT the contractual obligation.
I figured maybe, try a three team trade that could involve Houston that can bring Shane Battier here in some way.

Agree on your first two counts. Disagree with the on court statement.
Kidd's passing would be nice on this team. His contract would not though.

Jason Kidd, might actually be an option once his contract expires in Dallas. Artest on the other hand is not someone that seems more like lobbying to play us right now. His act is surely getting a little old when he has all the tools to do well in Houston.

So... he also did get a kings hair cut when he was in Sac Town and he didn't give a rat's a$$ in the off season. Now he gets a rockets logo on his head after he says that LA was his first preference! Take it FWIW but loyalty means nothing to Ron Artest.

he was traded. its not like he had the option of going where ever he wanted after he chose to not opt out of his contract. the kings had the power to trade him where ever they want to, artest doesnt ever since he opted to play out one more year of his contract
artest is doing what any player with class would do(the gist of it + more(haircut)). hes saying that he loves his new team and looks forward to how far the team can go with him. he says that hes okay not being the 1st option and okay with not starting, etc
