Would anyone here give up Radman for Tinsley? He's probably a downgrade and his contract isn't all that great, but he fills a greater positional need for our current depth chart than Radman does, doesn't he? How is his perimeter defense? Can he shoot the three at all? I guess I'll have to look up his stats. I hate stats. They usually tell little to nothing.

What's your vision for Tinsley? I don't see him as a better option for the Triangle than Fisher, and after watching last night, Farmar, along with Ariza and Powell, are our only chance at decency defensively. We have to play Farmar. Period.

So what do you see TInsley as?

He sucks as a shooter, but I remember him being ranked nr 1 among every point guard as far as defense goes a couple years back on some statistical site.

I'm just bringing him up because they want to get rid of him in a bad way. I'm not a fan. Unless Radman starts playing A+ defense in a hurry, I'd like to get rid of him. He can shoot, and that's a very valuable ability from the SF spot, but that's not our most pressing need. We have Kobe, Odom, Ariza, Luke, Karl to create from the SF spot.

At PG, we have Fisher and Farmar. I'd like to have a veteran defensive PG backup in case an injury would strike.

Just curious to see what people think.

I'd take him for Walton probably.

Not the most exciting of moves, but it would definitely insure our defensive depth at PG, something we need maybe more than Radman or Luke. I hate to admit it but I keep getting back to the question, "what if either Fish or Farmar gets injured...?" I want Kobe to play the three all year. Ariza could play the point, I guess. I'd still rather have three legit PGs than five legit SFs.

Long shot:

If the Knicks are even somewhat close to the playoff hunt, I could see the being interested in Lamar Odom. I have recently read that that he has been having issues with Phil Jackson. Could you guys see the Lakers parting with him? Obviously the Knicks don't have too much to offer but if the issues with the coach get out of control, maybe they would be willing to take a package of Malik Rose (exp.), Quentin Richardson, and a pick and/or young player?

Just throwing something out there. I'm bored.

Yeah, I could see it if there was a serious pick involved.

the knicks don't have a serious pick. quentin richardson's 2nd yr is a big negative too with bynum's contract kicking in.

Unless that pick is in top 5 territory, I wouldn't even consider that offer.

Knicks just don't have a lot of desirable assets for us to trade for at this moment.

If the NY pick is lottery I'd definitely consider it. The probability of drafting in Demar Derozan or Rubio would be wonderful.

like i said, the knicks don't have a pick. they owe a first round pick this season to the jazz, but its top 22 protected, which means it'll carry over to 2010. in 2010, its unprotected, the jazz are going to hit the lottery. the soonest the knicks could get a pick to the lakers is 2012.

Ah! Scratch that then. :D

I assume atleast the Nets would have a pick that could be lottery unprotected.

Since we're all joking here:

Lakers send: Radman, and 1st rounder
Lakers get: Battier, and 1st rounder

Lakers' first rounder is not guaranteed.

I came here to post this exact trade... Radman for Tinsley straight up... Tinsley would only be insurance in case Fisher or Farmar gets hurt.... Chris Mihm is probably a better shooter but Tinsley is a great playmaker and would never play... Their deals expire the same year but I think it would be easier to flip Tinsley who has SOME talents than Radman who has one (or at times none)

Knicks fan here...I'm posting a trade proposal from a poster on a Knicks board and wanted to see what Lakers fans thought about the deal. Personally, I don't think the Lakers do it but he claims to be a Lakers fan as well and thinks they would improve by swapping Odom for Nocioni...

Lakers trade Lamar Odom
Lakers receive Andres Nocioni and Cedric Simmons

Knicks trade Zach Randolph and Quentin Richardson
Knicks receive Lamar Odom and Larry Hughes

Bulls trade Andres Nocioni, Cedric Simmons and Larry Hughes
Bulls receive Zach Randolph and Quentin Richardson

Thoughts??

You forgot the Bulls' unprotected 1st rounder, and Knicks' unprotected 1st rounder. :naaa:
