Watched "Transporter 3" yesterday. I nominate it for the worst movie of the year.

Saw "Role Models" a few days ago. Funniest movie of the year so far.

milesfides wrote:I have the macbook air. Had it for a few months now. I like it for its portability, which is key running around nyc and taking public transportation. I remember when I had the white macbook earlier this year. That sucker was pretty heavy after awhile.

Macbook air's built quality is very good. It may look flimsy, but it's built more solidly than the white macbook, which had begun to squeak at some of plastic seams.

The biggest drawback is the lack of a dvd/cd-rom, but for me professionally, that's a non-issue, and when I do want to watch movies or otherwise install some programs, I have the external superdrive.

Macbook air is really for people who need portability over computing power. I won't lie, even some webpages tax this little bugger. I haven't even tried playing games. But for the average professionals, I can't think of a better alternative to the macbook air.

I'm not sure how successful it was or not. To be honest, I don't see many people with it at all, which makes my e-penis feel larger.

Once I get into the filmmaking side of things, I'm sure I'll need one of desktop beasts. Money money money.

yeah miles, thats why i recommend to most people to stay away from the air, for the exact reasons you just stated, but better than me. its a great computer, however much like the g3 all in one, or even the original bondi imac, its a sure harbinger of the future, but not ready for primetime, unless your doing wordprocessing or internet surfing, the facet that gives me that sense btw is the 64gig flash drive...the future indeed...btw, did you get a standard platter or the flash drive in yr air?

also, being a new yawker, im sure you heard of charlie rose's sacrificing his face for his air, right? :D

Any dog owners here, got a serious question. My dog has been coughing and throwing up blood, my brother just took him to the vet, but I'm freaking out, you have any idea how serious this could be?

Thanks for the support hermes. As far as I know right now, there is nothing the vet can do, there might be something in his throat or stomach, but they won't be able to reach it, or possibly worse, it could be a tumor in his throat. Now the vet is trying to sucker us into tests that won't show us anything and even if they do, they've already said they can really do anything. It's a scary situation right now.

Standard...I'm too poor for the flash drive, but that's a sick feature. Sure would speed up my sometimes laggy air.

No I just googled it, that's hilarious. What's he doing carrying his macbook without protection? Newb.

KB8MVP, good luck with your dog man...DD might have some advice for you.

Again thanks for the support guys, now we think it might be his ulcer, which could be treatable, we just have to keep a close eye on him and be really careful on what he eats. Today's been a pretty rough day.

miles,

you still thinking about moving? i know you were talking about a tight budget and i just talked to a girl who works with my wife and is living off of $1000 a month in ashland. even with her living costs figured in, she's still got enough for school fee's (University of Southern Oregon). i think you'd really dig ashland but since it's one of the more expensive communities in S.Oregon, i was floored to find she could manage on that little a month.

Happy Holidays.

haha...........i've got an old 27" tube that's picture at times creeps down an inch or so from the top. it looks like i'm watching something on letterbox but i'm not. really bugs me when sport channel's have their scores on the bottom and i can't see them. i've been dealing with this for several months so it might be time to get out the wallet and blow off the dust.

That's pretty cool Tommy, thanks for the heads up. I actually plan on saving a few grand and taking a half-year hiatus to do nothing but write.

Ashland is definitely added to the list.
