Really, again, I am no Kobe Bryant lover, but that game (for the few of us who watched it, it was quite possibly the most beautiful game of offensive basketball EVER played or that ever will be played) just said so, so, so, so much.
When it came down to it in the biggest possible moment, playing for their country with their legacies all on the line, who took over the game?
LeBron was the best player in that game, hands down. Wade was unconscious.
But in the clutch, Kobe took that team on his shoulders.
Thus, regardless of stats or other outside analysis, Kobe IS the most clutch player in the game today.

Throughout the whole olympic run he kind of laid back, did his thing on defense and scored here and there. But when it looked like the gold was in jeopardy, he did what he does best and took over. Lebron can give all the speeches and tell the media he's the "leader" and what not. Wade can come off the bench and give that spark against the other teams scrubs. But when the game mattered most in crunch time, they all differed to Kobe to bring home the victory. There's no doubt about it that, that game was the highest exhibition of clutchness in the biggest stage possible. Four years before, a team that featured Lebron Wade and Melo came home with the Bronze. Two years after that in 2006 FIBA WBC under Coach K, Lebron, Wade, Melo and squad got eliminated by Greece in the semi finals not even placing. Kobe joins the team for the Olympiccs and he delivers the Gold.
