Your center running the point or your pg playing center

Post#1 » by Pancho_Pantera » Wed Dec 10, 2008 3:26 am

Who do you take your chances with?

The Center must cross the half court line before passing it to a teammate and he must defend the opposing pg. The pg must defend the opposing center and play the post and go through the motions that the center would usually take. This is all based on who your favorite team is.

I'd take Kidd at center before I'd let Dampier carry the ball up the court.

With the way the game is reffed

i'd rather a PG at center, he can flop, flop flop and get every call
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Considering Aaron Gray running the point is probably the basis of Stephen King's next book, I'll take Derrick at center a billion times out of ten.

Considering my team's players are basically the same size at every position anyway it probably wouldn't matter much. That being said if I had to choose I'd have Chalmers playing C. A lot of C's don't have that great of hands so he'd probably be able to get a lot of steals

As ugly as it would be, I think I would prefer Lopez bringing the ball up the court to seeing Devin Harris get raped by every center in the league.

If we can consider Bargs a C, I'll take him all day at PG over Jose at C. Bargs has a good handle for a big, is a pretty good passer, and does an OK job defending perimiter players (for a 7 footer). Earlier this season, when we played the Warriors, the Warriors put Jax at PG and he had no problem backing Calderon down in the post every time he touched the ball, and scoring extremely easy buckets in the post. Jax is a SG/SF, I'd hate to see what a C would do to Calderon in the post.

Chalmers at center

there are not too many great centers in the league to make a living inside, even on much smaller players.

rondo at center or perk at PG is pretty much instant fail, but i guess rondo at C is the lesser of many evils. perk at PG would be unwatchable.

Horford at point wouldn't be an apocalypse. He brings the ball up on fast breaks on occasions...

Mike Bibby can't even guard PG's, so centers would be humorous.

With Yao at PG, at least no-one could post him up. Other than that, he would be useless at PG. With Rafer at center, you know he won't back down.

Calderon can't defend the PG position anyway, so I'll have to go with Caldy defending the C.

Deron at C over Memo dribbling for any reason.

Though kudos to Memo for hitting a game-winning runner off the bounce tonight.

C running the point for me. He doesn't have to penetrate and kick out. He can simply pass over his defender for a layup fest, that is of course if skilled.

Haha, the C playing the point really isn't that much of a problem for the Kings. Thompson, Hawes, and Miller could all do OK I think. In fact, Miller kind of is our PG in a half court set.
