Eric Snow: The Iverson Whisperer?

Post#1 » by Buck You » Wed Dec 10, 2008 1:55 am

Okay, this may sound weird. But the only time that Iverson had a lot of success as the star of his team, was in 2001 when Eric Snow was running point for the Sixers. Is it possible that Iverson needs to play Shooting guard and have a point guard on his team like Eric Snow(play good defense, make the right play, etc) to have success? By success I mean conference finals/finals. I don't believe Iverson has ever had success while being the point guard of his team.

This has been obvious since day 1.. AI's a SG.. he creates the most mismatches at SG.. He can play off the ball and attack much easier at SG. He's been playing out of position for the last few seasons now..

Well yeah. Stuckey could very well be the answer. I'm interested in seeing Rip & Tay play the 3 & 4 though. Either way it should be fun.

Well of course AI isn't a PG. That's not exactly a revelation.

And no, I don't like the idea of Rip and Tay at the 3 and 4 spots respectively. To be honest I actually don't mind Tay at the 4 in most matchups - he's been rebounding very well this year and his length is problematic the same way a guy like Marion is. But Rip can't defend 3's. At all.

Stuckey/Iverson as the starting backcourt is probably a good idea, but Rip/Tay as the starting forwards is not. If Detroit is gonna continue with Stuckey/Iverson (an I think they should), they should either deal Rip, or use him as a 6th man, with a minutes distribution along the lines of:

PG - Stuckey (28 mpg), Iverson (20 mpg)
SG - Iverson (14 mpg), Rip (34 mpg)

Yea, i could see Stuckey working nice to Iverson, he looks better at the 2 position, i didn't think Pistons would struggle this badly with him, even though its still early, and Iverson and the pistons will come around.

LMAO at Kanye West sucks, top three lyricist out right now.....

The only way he'd be successful as a point guard is if he was playing next to Kobe Bryant.

Kanyay may not suck ass, but he indeed does suck balls. Furthermore, he additionally also sucks donkey as well, too. I cannot be eloquently accused of "hating on" him, because my indifference to him may prevent me from finishing this senten

Can Kanye play the 1? Maybe he could help AI and the Pistons?
