Where does Phoenix rank now in the West?

Post#1 » by CPaulMVP3 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 11:46 pm

With the trade that just happened, where does PHX rank right now?

I say they are 5th in the West. I know we haven't even seen J-Rich play yet, but I don't think it can really help them that much to move them up in to a homecourt advantage spot.

5th sounds about right. They'll make the playoffs and now will push the series to 6 games instead of getting swept in the first round.

Same in my eyes.
I actually think worst cause they lost a good defender in Bell.

I think it will be hard for them to get homecourt... there are alot of solid teams in the west and most of them have a clear cut identity unlike PHX.

They really lack depth , rookie Lopez is the only big man off the bench.

Dragic still didn't prove him self as a quality backup pg but with Barbosa it's ok for now.

They despertaely need another big , I will take the wait and see approach.

They may not land a high seed, but I think this team now has the firepower to compete in a 7 game series against anyone out West. J-Rich will open some eyes defensively, he has the tools to guard the games best.

I dont really think this trade made this team any better. JRich isnt an impact player in my opinion.

Starbury's Suns have won just as much as Nash's Suns vs the Spurs...

He was always a very tough guy for the Spurs to cover while with the Suns.

He can take the Suns to another level...

Phoenix still isn't good enough to beat the Lakers or Spurs. They've rasied themselves to the Hornets / Jazz level though.

I always liked Marbury. The guy grew up a lot while here, in Phoenix. The guy averages around 8apg so stop saying he isn't a team guy.

Marbury is the strongest PG in the league driving to the basket.

Suns will be a 6 to 8 seed but surprise in the playoffs barring any injuries or other trades.

This is a good trade. Jrich is very under appreciated and Bell was on the decline. Diaw for 9 mil per was hurting this team financially. Suns just got better by getting younger and more athletic. They also got a 2nd round pick which the Suns desperately need after giving away so many picks and good players. IE Rudy Fernandez, Rondo, Iggy, Deng, Nate Robinson, Sergio Rodriguez....
