Hes not even anywhere close to the level of Harris, Rose, Mo Will, Rondo, Calderon, or Ford in my opinion. Maybe top 10.

Either he got a lot better in his 5th NBA season and after turning 26 (very unlikely), or he's a product of a system and a team (also sounds unlikely).

Of course, when you consider D'Antoni and how his system helped Steve Nash win two MVPs- largely seen to be one of the more amazing individual achievements in NBA history compared to his actual skill level- it becomes pretty obvious that D'Antoni's system is making a serviceable PG seem like a very good one. He's really not.

Obviously Arenas would be up there if healthy.

Nelson's been #7+ this season. Averaging 15 and 5 with 2 TO with some very clutch plays

Didn't Nash have more assists, a higher FG%, higher 3 point FG%, higher FT% and more points in the same system?

That's like saying Deron Williams fans better step up because Ronnie Price was able to lead Utah to some wins, so obviously Ronnie Price = Deron Williams.

Duhon isn't even a top 5 guard in the East.

  try putting Rondo on the Knicks

Yeah he wouldn't fit into that non existant D and awkwardly forced offensive game you guys play over there in new york.

Nelson severely underrated. He is one of the better scoring point guards in the East and he is clutch as hell.

dantoni syndrom.

hes really not that good..ive seen him play for 4 years, and hes an okay PG and a great backup PG...but id still take half of the east PGs over him easily.

Duhon isn't 2nd best PG in the East, but maybe 2nd best product of the D'antoni hype system, second only to David Lee.

Lots of pgs in the east are better than Duhon. I'm probably going to get bashed for saying this, but I think Nate Robinson is better than Duhon as well.

Why does it matter if its a product of the system. Not every point guard can do what Duhon has done so far this season and when comparing him this season to other point guards this season he has been better than many of them.

Who else is laughing at the Celtics fans saying Duhon is a product of the system then claiming Rondo is better. Duhon on the Celtics would be WAY better than Rondo on the Knicks. Anyone disagree with that?

I do. Rondo playing with the Knicks = tons of triple doubles. He averages about 5 rebounds on the Celtics with KG/Perkins/Powe/Pierce to contend with. On the Knicks it's just David Lee and he would probably be able to pull down 7-8 rebounds (especially playing Duhon's minutes). He would also get 8-9 assists and maybe 14 points too just by being surrounded by shooters and having the luxury of having the ball in his hands all the time.

If you project Rondo's numbers right now to the minutes that Duhon is getting, it would be: 13.2 points, 9.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 2.9 steals. Then realizing that New York has the fastest pace in the league and Boston is 19th, pace adjust Rondo's numbers to New York's pace: 14.1 points, 10.4 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 3.1 steals. So you get the picture - Duhon gets to play 40 minutes/game on the fastest paced team in the league; that means his stats are really inflated.

Why?

Because...

Not every point guard can do what Duhon has done so far this season

'System' means many could. I mean, that's exactly what people mean when they say his stats are inflated because of the system. But no, not every point guard can do what Duhon is doing, but that's not the question. The question isn't "Is Duhon the wost PG in the NBA?", which would imply that absolutely every PG could do what he's doing. The question is "Is he the 2nd best PG in East?" So when people say "It's the system" they mean that several other PGs in the East could, in fact, do what he's doing.

Just another classic example of a player being made in Mike D's system.

If Nash comes to the Knicks at 36 he will be Duhons backup, believe that.
