Hinrich, Gooden, Sefolosha and L Hunter

For

Odom, Vlad and Farmar

Bulls get a legit rebounding Power Forward that they would have a good chance to resign next year. They get a young inexpensive point guard in Farmar and they add Vlad a solid shooter but mainly they take his salary as a buffer for the Lakers' taking on Hinrich.

Lakers' get a starting pg in Hinrich that can shoot and penetrate. They get a backup at the PF in Gooden and they get insurance w/ Sefolosha and L Hunter. Hunter can't be traded till Feb 13th but I can wait.

Chicago

Rose, Gordon, Noah, Odom, Deng. starting 5
Farmar, Hughes, Gray, Nocioni, Thomas, Vlad, Simmons and Ruffin . On the bench.

LA LAkers

Hinrich, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Ariza. starting 5
Fish, Hunter, Sasha, Sefolosha,Gooden, Mihm, Benga,Powell, Luke,Yue

That ^ makes our team much worse, in my opinion.

Can Przybilla play through the injury? Blake opportunity?

That makes our depth chart look like

Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga
Gasol/Gooden/Powell
Luke/Ariza
Kobe/Sefolosha/Sasha
Hinrich/Fisher

Not particularly bad but our 2nd unit does suffer and Gooden is not an investment I'm interested to make on this team at the expense of Odom. Sefolosha and Hinrich would make a great addition to our perimeter defense though.

Depends on the extent of lay off he's expecting but still I do not see them trading Blake after his performances so far this season. A guy like Nate McMillan must love to have a guy like Blake running the team on the floor.

I'm interested with the way they look to progress though. They'd like to get Rudy Fernandez starting very soon and that might force them to think about Roy at PG. Also Bayless is an excellent PG in the works and he was the most impressive rookie in the summer league. So there's a chance in the future but not this season with their playoff aspirations.

Gooden is really solid IMO, he is a better back to the basket player than Odom and a lot better free throw guy which IMO is very key come playoff time. And for the Buss family an expiring deal which makes it easier for them to pay Hinrich. Hinrich when going like the Miami/ Shaq series a few years ago is very strong at making jumpers which is very key for this team/ they lack it a lot.

And that being said Hinrich can take it to the rack off screens and finish. I think a second unit of Fish, Hinrich, Gasol, Gooden and Sasha would be really solid at spreading the floor. It would give LA some nice options in the playoffs when Kobe has to sit down.

Hinrich, Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Luke, Fish, Sasha, Gooden, Ariza would be a great 9 deep playoff rotation.... with an insurance policy w/ Sefoloshia in case Ariza gets a big offer next season. As well Gooden might take 5 or 6 million to be a back up on a winner. Gooden 12.7ppg and 8.8 reb shooting .845 from ft line in 29.9 min not to bad IMO.

If Odom could make free throws I'd say keep him but he chokes way too much. He cost the Lakers' big time in Boston series w/ just bad choices and free throws.

The only thing to prevent this deal of course is Vlad. Not sure if anyone is willing to take him but if it means taking away Hinrich's deal--so they can play Rose--maybe it's worth it for them.

If we struggle against Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Mo Williams, Chris Paul,Jameer Nelson and/or Rafer Alston in the next few games because of a lack of backcourt defensive depth:

Vujacic and Mihm for Charlie Bell and Lue -- two more options to guard the aforementioned players for the future.

And they can both shoot.

Time will tell.

Don't matter if Farmar was back against most of those Point Guards they are just really solid with Mo Williams and Rafer on the lower end of the Point Guards mentioned.

Charlie Bell from what I've seen is a horrible shooter and Lue well is decent but I don't think the Lakers' want to lose their depth of Mihm in the Front Court. If Bynum or Gasol were to miss any time then Odom would be a starter and Mihm/Powell would be next in line.

As for Sasha I think at least when he is not shooting well he plays w/ passion on D which is very key for this team.

per Wiretap - 13-20 Sixers shopping Andre Miller need an outside shooter, Lakers need a point: Hello Vlad!

Work a deal.

I love the trade ideas and the getting new blood in here but the Lakers' are not looking to make a move this big. That being said the Sixers are not looking to move Miller, although he is a free agent next year and is making 9.999 999 million this year.

I think the article is a little false in that area is says it could be Miller but more likely I think it is Sam Dalembert they truly want to move--he is making around 30 plus million over the next three years and is averaging 6 ppg and 8.6 reb. However with that said they got IGGY and Brand making over 10 a year so Miller might be the easier player to move. Of course they would have to add a cheaper PG.

And that is where Jordan Farmar could come into play IMO.

A Farmar, Vlad and Mihm for Andre Miller, Theo Ratliff and K Rush would be right up both teams alley IMO.

Farmar, IGGY, Sam D, Brand, T Young. Bench of. L Williams, W Grenne, J Smith, M Speights, Mihm, Vlad, R Evans. Not too bad for them they get a young pg w/ upside in Farmar, they get Mihm to replace Ratliffs' minutes and they get an outside shooter in Vlad that they have been missing since Korver left. The other side is too that they weren't gonna contend for a East title and most likely weren't gonna re sign Miller so they do fill 2 fairly big holes in their team w/ a starter pg and a bench 3 pt shooter in Vlad. Mihm just back up expiring deal.

Lakers then have: Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Luke. Bench of Miller, Sasha, Rush, Ratliff, Odom, Powell, Benga, Ariza and Yue.

The get Miller a 10 million dollar expiring contract, who is a solid pg w/ a much better dribble drive game than Fisher, they get an outside shooter in Rush, also expiring, and they get a better defensive back up then Mihm in Ratliff also expiring.

So they get better for this year and save around 13 million dollars for next season which will be key if they want to keep Lamar and Ariza on board. As well Rush and Ratliff would be cheap to return for depth purposes. Miller would be looking for a MLE but who knows if he worked out.

Depends. At the moment he certainly would. The triangle requires someone who knows how to play in it, so Andre's being a better pg really has nothing to do with starting until he knows the ropes.

Change up:
Miller to LA
Maggette, PG Marcus Williams to Philly
Vlad, Mihm, 1st '12 to GSW

Pg help for LA.

3rd scorer to Phil (Brand, Igg, Magg, plus TYoung, JSmith) and young pg not needed in GS.

2011 Cap plan help to GS, big offensive Fwd while Wright and Randolph develop - 1,2,3 set with SJax, Ellis, Crawford, Belinelli, Watson etc, Maggs bad signing can be quickly moved.

That is not a bad spin on the Miller trade but I would also like to get Ratliff back for a reserve just in case of foul trouble or the odd injury.

I think more trades should be less and less about Odom as it appears their rotation is kind of set.

A nice tinker w/ Luke or Vlad exiting would be nice if they could find a player that could get to the rim and finish and make free throws. Miller and Hinrich fit that bill but the Miller expiring is much more appealing.

Bucks wouldn't do it. Lue for Mihm makes no sense as we need a third point guard (especially with Sessions struggling lately) rather then a fourth center and a Bell for Vujacic is a solid swap but both do almost the same things. Both are shooting guards and the holes in their game come out at point, both play overrated defence, and with Vujcaci we add salary.

I think Miller would offer a lot, he doesn't have an outside game but; he can go to the rack and finish which the Lakers' lack a lot of--only Kobe offers that right now. Miller can get inside off screens and either finish or set up the big guys, Gasol-Bynum-Odom, for layups.

I think the structure of the triangle prevents that aspect of simple basketball. You see it time and time again from the Jazz, Suns, Hornets, Boston w/ Rondo and KG to an extent. Of course it helps to have the PG that can attack and score at the rim but still--the simple screen roll makes people move on defense and I know for the Lakers' it kills them time and time again.

Millers' contract also very appealing if they want Ariza and Odom back. And his numbers are solid 15.8 ppg, 4.2 reb, 6.3 ast shooting .465 from the floor. He is just professional and solid--nothing flashy just gets the job done.

In the playoffs having Miller come in off the bench. Miller, Sasha, Bynum, Odom, Ariza would be sweet for opening the second quarter and filling in at the 8 min mark of the third and beginning of the 4th. I think the ability of Miller getting the ball to Bynum and Odom much closer to the basket with penetration would be so valuable. No, more Bynum having to back down from 8 feet away, just Miller on a simple screen taking to the hole or passing to a big for an easy one.

I think Fisher, Farmar and Sasha all lack that big quality in a natural pass first point guard. They are always it seems trying to pull up and take jumpers because their lack of dribble drive game, and it hurts the second unit especially. Not so much when Kobe is out their because he becomes the dominant option but when he sits you see the lack of a secondary guy who can take pressure off the post, by dribble driving. Nobody does it because they can't for the most part, it becomes a jump shot clinic between Farmar, Sasha, Vlad, Luke or Ariza and for the most part it is less than fun to watch.

Would u like Kirk Hinrich and Nocioni for L.Odom'

Yeah pretty much. I still don't like Noc, but Hinrich would fit great, Fish aint gonna play forever, and I'm not so sure Jordan isn't better trade bait than future cancer.

Do that trade then move Jordan.

on the other hand.. we're gonna win a chip... we aren't obligated to move anything for anything.
