Hey guys, im from Vancouver so I have previous ties with the grizzlies, just want to applaud you guys for signing Miles. Doing it right after that letter was sent out was badass.
PS - OJ Mayo is a stud, if we had him when I was in Vancouver the team might still be there.

It was a not legit forced retirement.
I love players like Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady. Why? Just because I love basketball. Even if you don't have one in your team, you should love them, too.

Re: Grizzlies Sign D-Miles??????
As a Blazer fan I think it's a great move too.
I mean why not sign him and get a little 1/4 million for your troubles right? I also like the post where someone brought up making some frineds around the league with the signing. Maybe that's not the case, but maybe it is?
Do I think the signing is out of some sort of spite or pure financial gain? Yes.
Does it matter what the reason is for? No it doesn't matter at all. Portland has no way in hell of proving anything, and even if there are some sort of super secret email or recorded phone conversation who cares? What can they really do about it.
Now I will say this. Miles was a waste of skin on the basketball court before the injury. What he does is come out and play hard enough to win people over and then mail it in. He is also a pretty bad influence on younger players. I only say this as a warning to fans who don't know this.
I say good luck the the Grizzlies except when you play Portland.

Actually it was very legit. An independent Dr appointed by the league and the players association ruled he shouldn't play. That had nothing to do with Portland or their Dr's. The reason it got to that point was because our Dr's wouldn't release him to play and Darius and his agent were getting upset. The next step was for Portland to have an independent Dr rule. That Dr found enough damage to warrant the medical retirement.
As said above, I have no bad wishes for Memphis. I would have done the exact same thing. But don't put this on Portland as a non legit forced retirement.

Re: Grizzlies Sign D-Miles??????
I like this move. The Grizzlies are currently in rebuild mode, Miles is 27 with a lot of upside, and it costs barely anything.
In a side note, I personally would've hung onto Shaun Livingston though (well techinically Miami was, right), so why not see if hes got anything worth keeping.
I like what the Grizzlies are doing, build up some favors by making low risk transactions.

The financial situation surrounding this is interesting. I just seriously hope Miles can somehow come close to his previous form.

Miles plays tonight vs Cavs and is scoring.
Seems to be staying active, but looks a little slow.
