You never know. This could fall through very easily.

Very true. My guess is that if it doesn't happen prior to game it doesn't happen at all.

If this deal turns out bad like we think it might, this move might be a big reason Hammond gets fired eventually in a few years. I hope he is right about this but man trading a much more proven performer for a guy who hasn't shown anything yet and a first rounder who even though I don't have much faith in him, has the skills and work ethic to also develop into a good performer just seems way too risky in my book.

Honestly, what exactly has Sessions proven?

He played some great pickup PG last April against a collection of the worst PGs in the NBA. This season he's looked good as a shooting guard but even that production dropped significantly once teams got tape on him and they started anticipating that shot in the lane.

I don't see a lot of point guard in him. Not that Conley has shown anything either, but I would rather take a chance on the guy that's cheap for the next few years, superior athletically and has shown (in college, I give you) that he'll put forth the effort to play defense.

That is really funny, I was on my honeymoon when the Mo trade went down. It was hell, I caught a quick flash on ESPN that "Mo williams was now on the Cavs" and that was all I knew for 3 days in Hawaii! I was never able to see what we got in return till I got home.

I went to the hotel computer to check who the Bucks drafted and the front page of ESPN has the Yi/Jefferson trade on it. I was like holy **** and my wife was not happy when I came back an hour later.

if it doesn't happen before the game it probably just means that herb's rubber stamp was out of ink, they'll pick up some more tomorrow, or wednesday. whenever someone's going to staples. no need to make a special trip.

John Hammond quote about what Dumars imparted to him:

'YOU CAN'T BE AFRAID TO LEAD"
The Milwaukee Bucks. Still the only major Milwaukee team to get closest to a title since the mid 1980's.

Change probably to definately and as good as to ten times better and youd be correct.

In regards to Stein saying they may be waiting for a better offer, if its a pg they're after in return they wont do better then Ramon

One would guess that Pritchard would make an offer, but I think the Memphis/Portland relationship is on shaky ground at the moment, haha.

In my view, the lack of movement and motion on Marc Iavaroni's half-court offense is extraordinary. It's, by far, the most stagnant offense in the league; heavily based on players creating off the dribble on clearouts or 2men game - and I'd go as far as saying it's probably one of the most boring offenses in the NBA during the last half a decade or so.

I try to watch some of their games essentially to keep an eye on Marc. However, it's very rare I can watch them for more than 1 quarter, because their offensive game is so unexciting and uninspiring that I just get bored and stop paying attention. I believe I'm not the only one to whom this happens because very recently I was talking to a person who's very interested on Marc Gasol's career and the same thing happens to him. I sincerely pity their fans.

Anyway, I can see this as a reason for Conley's lack of development. Personally, I don't think that's the kind of offense that suits a kid with Conley's skill-set who's still learning the job, especially when one adds the ball-dominant game of their wings. I think that's a very bad situation for Conley.

That said, I don't think that's an excuse for Conley's lack of productivity so far - at most, it's attenuating circumstance. I'll write my thoughts on that later.

I don't feel the same in regards to talent but just in terms of frustration. It'd be like the Reverend is a part of some psychological experiment to see how trade rumors impact the performance and psyche of young players. Joe didn't seem to have much confidence on the court before, I can't imagine how he'd look knowing that we attempted to dump him.

I voted no on this trade as it stands right now. If these rumors are true about a draft pick coming this way then I'll like it more.

Counting me in on being cautiously optimistic about this trade

If Skiles/Hammond don't view Sessions as a long term solution as the starting PG and thus don't intend to pay him much, Sessions is a goner either way then and i'd rather have Conley than Alexander going forward.

Seems like a fair trade to me, very good for us if the pick we are getting in return is a 1st.

So if we go through with this trade we basically traded the #8 pick for Mike Conley. Blah.\

We're getting a pick too? Well that would be easier to stomach I guess.

While the Bucks and Grizzlies may be in agreement on the aforementioned deal, neither team is under any pressure to consummate it quickly since the league-imposed trading deadline isn’t until Feb. 19.

I wanted to repost this section from the article to everyone who thinks that Conley could be a Buck by tomorrow.
