Where will Vinny end up?

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Fri Jan 16, 2009 5:32 pm

Vinny Lecavialier looks like he will be dealt.

Habs are the most serious player.

Eklund reported 7 other teams interested...

-Rangers
-Canucks
-Bruins
-Leafs
-Flyers
-Kings
-Flames

I would put money on that he goes to montreal. How much do you think it will take for a team to get him?

I can see Vancouver as a very realistic option.

Crazy state of affairs on that Tampa team. Just sad to see them drop so hard after building at least some fan base.

A top 2 defenseman
A top 6 forward
Prospects
Picks

So if Montreal is going to get it done, it will most probably be Markov/Komisarek, Higgins/Plekanec, PK Subban/Kyle Chipchura/Ryan O'Byrne, picks.

Where is he going to end up?

I heard he doesn't want to go to Montreal because of the pressure that would be put on him. I will try and find the article in which he said it.

Whichever team tries to get him this season will have to give up a lot to get him.

If Tampa does move him, the NHL needs to take over the team and get rid of those owners. Sale the team to someone who has the money or move Tampa to Winnipeg or Hartford.

He's taken back those comments just recently, actually. He's gone as far as saying Montreal is the tops on his list of teams to go to if he is traded.

He won't but he should go to a team like LA. They need a star. (Kopitar doesn't count because his english isn't good enough)

Oh ok. Well then I suspect Montreal to go real hard for him at the deadline.

I think he would be a good fit with Montreal as long as the Montreal fans don't put too much pressure on him to lead them to a cup.

Gainey's trying really hard to try and get the deal done by the All-Star Game. But Tampa basically is not doing the deal unless Markov or Komisarek (re-signed) is included. With the Habs hurting so much on D, not sure I like it so much. Because not only will it be a top 2 defenseman, it'll be Higgins/Plekanec included along with ANOTHER D-Man prospect in PK Subban, who was awesome for Canada. Plus picks. Ehh. . .
