Mike Green = robbed.

Didn't have high expectations on Semin making it. He would have had hit not been for injuries. Can't say I'm not surprised about Backstrom. It won't be this year but he'll be there next year. It's too bad that the 1 player per team thing didn't allow Backstrom to make it over Stahl or LeCavalier.

Biggest robbery is Elias. Kovalev and Komisarek robbed Elias and Green off of deserving stops.

The NHL robbed Elias and Green by using this voting system. Not Kovalev and Komisarek.

Crosby withdraws from all star game. That sucks for the NHL.

rotoworld.com wrote:Sidney Crosby will not play in the upcoming NHL All-Star game due to a nagging knee injury.
Crosby was voted into the game by the fans, who will be disappointed to watch the skills competition and the game without his presence. Pittsburgh doctors recommended the center rest his knee for four or five days. He should be fine once the Penguins resume their schedule next Wednesday against the Rangers. He will be replaced in the game by Tampa's Martin St. Louis

Gotta feel bad for Sid. In Montreal. . .cant make it. His face is all over Montreal right now in billboards and murals.

I really think Sid wanted to be there. You could see how much Ovechkins popularity grew after the skills comp. Sid had to be there, as he is losing some ground on him. Gotta feel bad, but its part of the game i guess.

I don't think Sid cares about how popular he is in the NHL. All he cares about is winning the cup.

I'm glad Sid is skipping out on this useless game. He hasn't been himself all year and the Pens don't need him playing in this game. Take the week to rest his knee and be ready for the stretch run.

Hope you don't mind, but I changed the thread title to a game thread. Tonight is the youngstars game and the skills comps.

SuperSkills Competition:

Events:

1) Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater

2) Scotiabank NHL Fan Fav Breakaway Challenge

3) Upper Deck YoungStars Game

4) McDonald’s Accuracy Shooting

5) Cisco Hardest Shot

6) Gatorade NHL Elimination Shoot Out

Chara put 1000 dollars on the Hardest shot comp, and everyone else obliged. Whoever wins gets 6000 to charity in their name.

Wow, pretty sick.

Were you cheering for Vinny too? That ovation must have felt nice for him.

Chara with the record-breaking hardest shot was awesome.

Ovechkin and his get-up made me laugh.

Yeah I cheered for Vinny. He'll probably be in Montreal by the end of the year so I had to test it out to see how it felt.

Cheered for Souray, too. I really miss him being in Montreal; you can tell he missed it a little too. Class act.

Did Streit falling into the sign and face planting make it on TV? That had to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. We were all giving him the hometown cheer and he wasn't looking where he was going, hit the sign and went down. Then like 5 minutes later one of the refs hit the platform at center ice and went down. Both happened in the Elimination Shootout.
