How good is the Crescent City Connection? (Tyson & CP3)

Post#1 » by ChrisTheFuturePaul » Mon Mar 9, 2009 1:00 am

After watching the Hornets Vs Mavs I'm convinced I haven't seen a better ally-oop tandem in the NBA since Kemp + Payton. There was a third quarter run where the Hornets scored on like 6 or 7 straight posessions with around half being ally-oops Paul to Chandler, this is after the Mavs changed to a zone defence to prevent this type of thing. The artistry with these two on the pick & roll is amazing, the patience, timing, slight of hand of Paul and the raw energy Tyson puts into every throw down really makes this team one of the more fun to watch in the NBA.

Loved seeing Julian Wright get two niiice ally's in that game as well, CP3 needs more athletic guys around him, less jump shooters.

How good is it? It's really good I'd say.

I agree with CP needing a little more athleticism around him.

"Hopefully he just builds off the energy he brought tonight," Paul said. "He brings a different dimension to our team. ... When Peja and those guys are running the break we're running for jump shots. When Ju-Ju's running, we're running for lobs and dunks and I think the crowd feeds off it and so does out team."

The crowd feeds off a nice Peja 3-pointer too to complete a fastbreak but it's just something about a powerful dunk or a nasty alley-oop that just hypes those fans up.
