Any Cap Casualty DB's

Post#1 » by alorenzana » Mon Aug 27, 2007 9:01 pm

with Newman hurt are there any cap casualty corners that can play the physical game as an insurance policy 'cause Glenn is great as a nickel back but not a cover corner he's too small. Andre Johnson manhandled him on Saturday.

im not sure many know what you're talking about but he's referring to terrence newman not playing the rest of the preseason. aaron glenn is a decent nickel corner but he got manhandled by andre johnson saturday.

IMO it was stupid for anthony henry to not stay on andre b/c johnson has 7 inches and at least 30 pounds on aaron glenn.

and i doubt there will be any cap casualty db's the only thing you could do is trade for asante samuel and get ripped off by the pats.

I've thought for a ong time that Anthony Henry has gotten a bum rap. He's a pretty decent cover guy so long as you give him deep help. Of course when you're deep help is Roy Williams you're freaking screwed...

henry is a better playmaker than newman but i think i read last year he got thrown at the most last year. he's better at covering the more physical guys than the speedsters. i think a move to safety could be coming in the near future.

Yeah I could totally see that. Henry just devours big, physical receivers and guys that don't have great acceleration. Put him at safety, let him move up to outside CB in the nickel package.

LOL you know whats funny, this guy is a Cowgirl fan.

Newman is the only decent corner they had who could go one on one with any reciever in the league.

Banged up Newman along with Anthony Henry who can't cover anyone without safety help, add in probably the worst coverage safety tandem in the league of Roy Williams and Ken Hamlin, you might as well have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. Further more after cutting Glenn, there NB's could be two 6th or 7th round rookies or Jacques Reeves LOL.

I expect this Cowboys team to be very weak this year.

wow i expect the same from the redskins this year sparing us to death with there overpaid roster. but hell you're probably right since most people probably expect you to finish no better than 3rd in the division.

you say that and i could come up with about a dozen names of bad redskin contracts.

im not saying im not worried about the secondary. im a little worried about the defense at this point but they obviously think glenn cant still maintain his play at a high level to justify his contract. but i also think the redskins wont do anything to prove they're a playoff team either.

At least you're not the Raiders or Cards. Who the hell cuts a third round pick? That's why those teams suck.

The Cards partially rectified the situation by signing Moses.

Donovan Darius didn't make the Raiders. That means he's not as good as Stuart Schweigert, but he can still help a team in need of a stop-gap veteran who can play the run well. Like Miami or Houston.

I hope the Lions take a look at him. Our secondary is terrible and we can use all the help we can get.

With Bullocks on IR they certainly have a need.
