The East

Montreal over Boston - in 7

Easily going to be the best match-up of the 1st rnd, if not the whole playoffs. However the last 3 times, no matter what the seeding was, the Habs pulled it off. Look for it to happen again. Also the return of Markov will definitely boost the D for the Habs.

Washington over New York Rangers - in 6

Theodore will cause the Caps the two losses, but they have too much firepower for the Rangers.

Carolina over New Jersey - in 7

Jersey is going to play Jersey hockey... boring. However the reacquisition of Cole has sparked the chemistry between Cole and Staal yet again, and Cam Ward has be on FIRE. Paul Maurice has done a good job in turning the team around.

Pittsburgh over Philadelphia - in 5

Pens are going to dismantle the Flyers... the Flyers will try to rough em up, but it'll backfire and only make things worse.

The West

Anaheim over San Jose - in 7

The tale of the Sharks... choke. They'll put up a bit of a fight this time, but the Ducks are no slouch either.

Detroit over Columbus - in 6

Detroit will pull it off, but not without a scare first. The Jackets will have it tied up @ 2-2 before bowing out to the Red Wings. Goaltending is a very big concern for the Wings... has been all year.

Vancouver over St.Louis - in 6

Despite a great run to end the season, Vancouver is a cup favourite imo... they will be too much to handle for the young Blues.

Chicago over Calgary - in 5

Calgary got dominated by the young but ridiculously skilled Blackhawks team this year... these playoffs will be no different, especially with the injuries they are battling.

I do give props to them though. The travel down must be a pain, and they always do it.

Just as long as you don't piss on any Habs' fans seats when they get up or beat up female Habs fans like the Bruins fans last year, you're cool with me.

I can't make any promises.

But seriously, yes, that was pretty bad. I love the chants, hate it when they fight. Keep the fighting on the ice.

Griff?

1-0 Pens on a reviewed goal. Puck may or may not have crossed the line before the net was dislodged. Turns out the refs weren't even looking for that.

Do we have ourselves some controversy on the first goal of the playoffs?

Rangers, damn. I have caps going to the eastern finals, don't blow it for me in my pick em!

Lol, well we as Habs fans know what he's become... there's a reason we traded him for Aebischer :P I still think the Caps are winning in 6 though.

I think the Rangers will win because they have the top Penalty Kill in the NHL. Shut down the Craps PP and chances are you win. As of right now, the Rangers have the edge because they have split the home ice advantage that Wash had.

Anyway, I unfortunately missed the Pens game because I had to give a speech for my night class but I did get to watch the reply and the Pens dominated the Cryers. The best thing about the win was how the Pens dominated them physically as well and the Cryers had to resort to Cryers hockey, which is when you are losing, take as many cheap shots as you can.

I don't know what it is, but whenever these 2 teams meet, the Cryers always go against their game, which I don't mind. If they don't get their acts together, this series ends in 4.

The Caps PP, the Rangers PK were hardly the deciding factor. The Caps bombarded Lundqvist all game.

With any other goalie in the net for us this game is won 3-1. Three out of the 4 rangers goals were Threeormore being fat and not moving an inch of his body.

It's not like game 1 is the end of the world anyways. The Caps came back from a 3-1 deficit last year to take the Flyers (a much superior opponent) to game 7.

2-1 B's in the first. This is already looking like yet another great habs-B's game.

That looks like quite the entertaining game from the highlights I've seen. Jackets-Wings is pretty damn entertaining too despite no score. Osgood has made some highway robbery a few times.
