I really don't think the Caps are going to come out on top in this one. The only time we can beat these guys is with a great offensive performance that spans all 3 periods. Here's hoping that the Caps game 7 choke-fest ends here tonight.

New York has been the aggressors all night. We really need to focus in the 3rd period. Fight for our lives. If we don't, the Rangers will win the game.

Born in New York, moved down here when I was about a year old. My dad's a fan of the Jets and Rangers, so I was brought up watching/rooting for them. He never really liked basketball, and that led me to make my own decision. I began seriously following basketball about 5 years ago, and I started watching the Wizards a lot since they were always on and they began to grow on me. It just so happened that it was the first year Gilbert came here.

And sorry for bringing my negativity into your all's thread, it's just convenient that a thread on the playoff series I was interested in was on here.

Bigtime tip of the cap to the Rangers for bringing it tonight. Varly kept the Caps in it and Federov -- with the call from Smokin' Al Koken -- brings home the W. Great stuff.

Shocking victory by Carolina, setting up the Pens-Caps matchup. Although they'd probably prefer it a round later, the NHL and NBC have to be loving this.

History aside (and I truly think that Ovie, Green, Semin, Varly, etc could care less about what happened to Kevin Hatcher and Kelly Miller) I think this is the better matchup for the Caps. I'm much more fearful of Brodeur in a 7 game series than I am of FLeury, and the Pens' run n' gun style plays to the Caps' strength. Plus, no Georges Laroque in Pitt anymore makes the Brash suspension a lot less impactful.

Pittsburgh is a gritty team but the good thing is that we won't be over looking them. This team plays the best when it knows it has a challenge and with all the trash talk gone on between Ovechkin, Semin and Crosby, Malkin, you know this series will be epic.

Oh my gawd I can't wait. I'm so **** amped right now. We got rid of the game seven monkey, now it's time to rid the Pittsburgh one :wordyo:
