TWC got rid of HDNET and HDNET Movies :(

HDNET WAS ONE OF MY "GO-TO"'S! I got to watch K1 and the Japanese MMA promotions (specifically Dream, which was awesome). One of the channels that was added, Mav TV, is supposed to be the guy's answer to oxygen and lifetime. Two issues here:

1) How about we aim higher than the guys answer to oxygen and lifetime

2) HDNET WAS ALREADY THAT CHANNEL! Violence? Check. Shows about partying? Check. Boobs? Check. The only thing I can think to ask for is awesome cartoons like X-Men and Batman:TAS, but one of the disney channels hooks that up for me.

Mav TV is currently showing "Fitness Beauties". Yea, the description sums it up well-- Attractive women working out. I guess if I owned an all male gym, maybe I play this instead of, say, sports or softcore... but is there really an audience for this show? If so, I'd like to meet him, so I can try out some of that ill **** I learned from watching Kickboxing and less rules than UFC MMA.

Now this **** ass channel is showing Motorsports Hour, which is infinitely better than the last program, Girly Ghosthunters. TWC strikes again.

In other news, this movie looks like it might make a case for the first horror based movie I've been looking forward to seeing in a decade. It's called Dead Snow, it's got subtitles...and it looks really incredible. Don't believe me? Nazi Zombies.

Anyone know of good barbeque locations in or around Asheville? I'm supposed to find a place to cater my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner, although my being a pescetarian leaves me feeling... unqualified to select said foodstuffs.

Speaking of zombies, latest on the Paydro videogame parade: Resident Evil 5! I've been waiting for this one for a while, and it is totally worth it. If you played 4, you know what you're getting, if you haven't, and you like shooting zombies in the face, you really must try it.

Don't know about the catering, but if you are willing to pay for the flight (I'll sleep, drunk, on the sidewalk) I'm a kick arse wedding MC!

P.S. Is a pescetarian a vegan without being a vegan?

Sad news in my life today; I had to euthanize my cat. Cat Sajak turned 6 sometime last month, but we began our dynamic partnership the same day the Bobcats selected Emeka Okafor. With him being a baby puma... I always thought that was fitting. Every NBA Draft is fun for me regardless, but I always kept in mind that it was the beginning of another year of adventures.

Sh*tty timing on my behalf. It would appear that at the exact time I start pimping myself (obviously in jest) as your sisters wedding MC you posted why this week has been so hard for you (and ever since you posted you had been "off" this week with spectre I had wondered what was going on).

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I obviously can't do anything to ease the pain of losing Sajak, but know, and without a lie, that in about 15 seconds (I'm not quick on the keyboard) I will raise a stiff rye and diet pepsi to my lips, look squarely in the eyes of pic #3 of Sajak, wish him/her well and thank him'her for being a part of your life.

Cheers Sajak. From Joel to you.............

My condolences...losing a pet really really sucks, because they do turn out to be your best friend (well in my case). I have two dogs since they were puppies... I can't imagine losing either of them.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I went to workout yesterday at 11 and everything was all good and when I got back around 1:30 his hind legs weren't working and he was having trouble breathing. Turns out he had a blood clot that traveled south and caused his paralysis, then freaked out because of it and gave himself a heart attack. We took him to the Animal ER at NC State and decided to try a procedure to remove the clot once he stabilized.

The gf and I got to see him before we left and he had calmed down a lot, was on pain killers and a blood thinner and was in an oxygen tank. He was much better than before, so that was awesome to see and we just tried to stay positive. The vet was relatively up beat when she called at the end of her shift and said it would be good news if we didn't hear anything until the procedure was attempted. Sadly, she called at the beginning of her next shift, around 4:15, to say he was having potassium problems and wasn't responding to the treatment. At this point, it was collectively decided that it would be in Sajak's best interest to be euthanized.

He was a really unique animal. I'm glad he didn't have a long, drawn out, painful death march... but the sudden change is a shock.

Sounds like vet lady had your and Sajak's best interests at heart and tried to work it out. Relieved to hear that Sajak worked it out and moved on. That's power.

Going to refill my rye in honor of.

Tonight is an irish toast for Sajak............even though I'm aussie, your a yank and Sajak is a cat!

Drink!

In happier news, ESPN classic is airing some wrestling promotion from 1990. It's hilariously dated. They just showed this guy that they were trying to hype up as all natural, no chemical enhancements, but his wiki noted that he was a roider/cokehead since his college football days.

DRUNK!!

So, of course I switch to AWA too late and miss "Mr Natural" and instead tune into a guy who's jeans are hitched higher than MJ could ever imagine!!

(I think his name is flapjack.........although I am watching Martin Lawrence on 107)

Fats, Please do. Sajak had been completely healthy until Thursday when everything that went wrong did. He was definitely an awesome cat... he had a very unique personality.

Anyone watching the afternoon ufc event? It's been good fights so far. Me and my friends are on a bit of a dvr delay so we could get **** up, but yea, impressive showing so far.

that really sucks walt. just like everyone else, I'm sorry to hear it. I'm currently mad at my cat for peeing on the countertop, but now it doesn't seem so bad.
