Bucks/Mavs/Suns - Twist on Shaq to Dallas!

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Fri Jun 19, 2009 12:21 pm

Bucks Trade: #10, Gadz, Ridnour
Receive: Barea, Stackhouse (cut), D. George (EC - cut?)

Bogut/?
CV/Mbah a Moute
Jefferson/Alexander
Bell/Redd*
Sessions/Barea

The Bucks cut long-term salary and get Stackhouse's useful deal to retain CV and/or Sessions.

Mavs Trade: Dampier, Stackhouse, #22, Barea, D. George
Receive: #10, Shaq, Gadz

Shaq/Gadz
Dirk/Bass/Shawne
Howard/?/Shawne
A.Wright/Terry/Carroll
Kidd/#10 - Jennings/Flynn/Jrue

The Mavs make a deal that is great both in the short-term, and the long-term. Shaq is a huge upgrade at the C position and the Mavs could make up for giving Devin away and fill the PG position for the future with the #10.

Suns Trade: Shaq
Receive: Dampier, Ridnour, #22

The Suns cut a little bit of instant salary, which would be doubled since they are over the tax. The #22 could be valuable as a player could easily slip and the Suns are already forfeiting their 2010 pick to the Thunder, so its good to get an extra prospect.

The chances the Bucks use #10 to cut salary is almost zero.

So the Mavs rip everyone up in this trade lol. They move up 12 spots, dump a useless centre and 2 useless wings for a STILL allstar center all for the reason of taking on a bit of salary.. so not happening

Yeah....from Dallas' persective...sooooo not happening.

Why the hell would we trade all of our valuble trade assets for a 2010 expiring and in the same trade take on unwanted post-2010 salary?

Look, I understand that Dallas' direction is unclear right now. Cuban says one thing, Donnie says another, then Cuban contradicts himself later and Donnie doesn't backup what he says. And Mav fans are polarized on what we should do, but at the same time, we remain ambiguous as well.

I wouldn't mind Damp and Stack for Shaq IF, and ONLY IF we trade Carroll and Terry for 2010 expirings.

I wouldn't mind Stack for Gadzurac and #10 IF we are looking to rebuild and/or add to a "compete now" team that is looking to get younger while competing past 2010 as well. Then follow up with a similar type trade with Dampier contract next summer (and NOT for a 37yo Shaq this year).

But there is absolutely no reason to this trade. It just makes zero sense.
