Second best team in the NFC?

Post#1 » by thierry » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:37 am

I think that the 2nd best team in the NFC is a race between Seahawks, Eagles, and Packers. Its really hard for me to pick one of these teams.. we all know what Seahawks have to offer which is extremely solid. Now we don't know if the Eagles will return to their usual dominant form and if the Packers are a legit contender. Who would you pick as the 2nd best team in the NFC to challenge Dallas for the crown of the NFC?

3-0 = NFC champions?

I'd go with the Packers, though it kills me to say it. If Griese is any good the Bears will be #2 though when their defense gets healthy. They might not even beat the Lions this weeks (Vasher, Tillman, Harris out, Briggs, Ogunleye, Archuleta questionable, on top of Brown/Dvoracek out for the season).

I don't hate you. I but hate the people you choose to associate yourself with. :P

thierry, you're asking for not-so-friendly comments from other posters with this post. I know that you may have had good intentions with this post, but considering your past history with other posters on this board regarding anything to do with the Cowboys, this post may come across the wrong way to some of the other posters. And if they come across negatively to you, I ask you not to bait them or degenerate this conversation into curse-riddled name-calling posts. If they do the same to you, the mods will take care of it.

Now carry on your regularly scheduled discussion...

What? I'm just trying to have a friendly discussion about who is the 2nd best team in the NFC because I really have no idea who to give this rank. Hasn't Dallas already been given the #1 spot of the NFC for the time being? Yes, well then who is the #2 spot? Whats the big deal?

Slow down their Cowboy. 3 games is not enough time to give the NFC crown to anyone. Didn't the Giants have a solid first half last year and then completely self-destruct? Lets wait 10-12 games before we even think about whos the best.

well i think the discussion is just to focus on the first three weeks. just like in college football, where they re-evaluate ranking every week.

this is the kind of stuff that realgm is about. you can't wait until week 12, cause we would have very little to talk about from now to then.

I'm a Seahawk fan but after seeing the first 3 weeks the Hawks are the second best team I've seen in the NFC. There not playing all that good but I'm impressed with there defensive improvement. By the end of the year they likely will be a top offense again. The Packers are close but they have no running game right now.

This is exactly what I was thinking, about the Packers running game especially. Throw in the Eagles being a threat just by having McNabb Westbrook and Reid and thats my idea.

wow, i didn't know some people considered the Cowboys as #1, but that they are not..... but i'll give it to them if they can beat the Pats. but right now it is clearly the Pack.

Wait, how is it "clearly the Pack"? They haven't looked nearly as impressive as the Cowboys.

Pack beat the Bolts.

Who really wants to be #2 (or #1 for that matter) in September? Last Sept. the Giants looked like an unbeatable juggernaut and the Steelers were the worst team in the AFC. It's nice for the fans to talk about but it really means nothing. Say Romo breaks a pinkie or McNabb once again misses 6 weeks or AJ Hawk gets lost for the season--in Week 13. Think it matters then how good they are now?

Falcons started 6-2 in 2005 and 5-2 in 2006, seasons can change fast.

2002 Saints start 7-1 and miss the playoffs.

We are counting chickens way before the eggs are even starting to shake.

stop overating the packers.

I mean let us do something before we get a ranking anything like this.
