Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
Just chiming in on a few things that have been mentioned along the way.
1. 14 or 16 is a really good number of players.
2. I think a true snake style draft would be best.
3. I don't care how it's judged because I won't agree with anything the judges say anyways.

With regard to pick order, I think, at minimum, you need to look at ABBA sort of format.

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
^Yeah, the ABBBA thing is standard for drafts like this, thats definitely what should be used.
The OP suggested making the 3rd round reverse order as well. (in other words the one with the first pick picks last in rounds 2, 3, 4 and then every other one thereafter. I think that overcompensates and gives the people with the last few picks WAY too big an advantage.

^That has the "B's" picking more than the A's.
And what you basically end up doing with any of these is completely screwing over the people right outside the top 5 or 6.

Well, we still need 2 more people, but it should start very soon after that.

Fair point. There's lots of different ways we could go with this. Maybe ABBABABBABAA? ABBAABBAABBA?

One more suggestion about the entire drafting process, however you guys plan on making the draft order to work out, I dont know how many rounds there will be and how we are working out the entire game? I mean are we just drafting for starters or a 12-16 man roster cz if we are doing that then we need to have 12-16 rounds and my suggestion is that we do one round completely everyday so the drafting process isnt too slow or boring. Cz there will be trading and then match-ups involved in this game so rather then lengthening the entire draft process, all i m saying is that we dont make the drafting too slow that by the time we get to trading and match-ups, people are already bored of it.

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
^I would suggest a 12 man roster with the competitors we have.
That is about the limit of how many picks you wanna have in this thing.
Obviously we will try to do one round every day. I'll be honest, and no offense to anyone, but the number of very low post people who have signed up for this and than never come back to the thread feels like a bad sign.

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
^Lol, why do you assume I was talking about you?
Very egocentric.
I'd be down with starting right now. If you are going to modify the draft order, I would suggest:
ABBBAA for the first 3 rounds. In other words, the second round is exclusively for the second half of drafters and the 3rd round is ONLY for the first half.
This results in the fewest modified rounds (only 2).
After that, continue exactly as you would with a normal snake:
BAABBAAB etc.
In other words:
1-14, 14-8, 8-14, 7-1, 1-7 then proceed with 14-1, 1-14 etc....
Although that definitely hurts people in the middle.

I prefer a 12 man roster as well. And it would be great if we could finalize everything tonight and start this game tomorrow.

I don't see any reason why the ball can't get rolling tonight.

I'll be busy this weekend, so internet access might be a bit of a problem, but otherwise I'd be down for starting this thing as soon as possible. And if we're actually choosing coaches, I'll take Pop

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
Very interesting draft idea. I like it. I'm also fine with starting tonight. But 16 seems to be a better number than 14, simply because it would allow for a 4 round tournament. How would you suggest the judging with 14 teams? Have everyone rank the top 14 teams, top 8 advance to the playoffs, 3 round tournament?

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
^I would propose that everyone rank every team but their own.
Outsiders can also come in and rank all 14.
Its a much less drawn out voting process and reduces the risk of people just losing interest.

Re: Who's up for an all-time draft?
We still have to resolve the drafting issue thing.
My vote is still for a plain snake ABBA. My last format hurts people in the middle too much.
