SF I once thought you may be someone hired by the sixers to maybe spark fans' interest with your info. But that becomes impossible with these negative posts lol

Anyway I would like to share some optimistic view. I am kind of skeptical about Lou at the point but I think he has shown he can run the pick-and-roll/pop quite effectively with Speights, although they played little time together. It is not too unreasonable to think he can possibly do well with Brand who also have a good mid-range jumper. And in the princeton offense he doesn't really need to be a playmaker like Miller was. It may not be pretty but I think it won't be that disastrous, especially if he improves his jumper this year.

I think it is all about expectations. I don't expect them to win. But I expect them to have a watchable offense unlike last year. And I expect the young guys to get a lot of playing time and learn through their mistakes.

yes i am quite down on this team right now. tired of mediocrity.

i know given our situation..we are kinda stuck this year.....i just like to vent. I definitely wasnt hired to pep up this group. Maybe that SixersPR poster is. LOL

Jrue Holiday chat on NBA.com...nothing shocking, but thought some may want to see it.

Lou Williams on CSN: "One thing I would ask people - just don't expect Andre Miller out of me. I'm not that type of player. I use my scoring ability to create opportunities for other guys; he used his passing ability to create opportunities for other guys. Hopefully, people will stay open-minded."

Thanks for the link.
Well he said his favorite shot is three-pointer. Don't know if that is a good thing or not.

Miller is way overrated here. He is, and i've said it before, the most deceptively selfish player i have ever seen. It was obvious that he playing for a contract this year. Time and time again he hit big shots for us this year, mainly because he was much more adept at creating shots for himself than for others. He also consistently went away from the hot hand. What you are going to see this year is how talented our young players really are. We will be a better team.

Hope I'm wrong, but I respectfully disagree. Afraid there are too many question marks for the Sixers to finish above .500 in 2009-10. Among them: Brand, how to make it work with two small forwards (Iggy/Young), Dalembert, how will Williams, a natural 2, handle being the primary 1, and subpar outside shooting, even with the addition of Kapono.

Wonder if Sixers pulled the one-year offer to Miller, which a source confirmed this morning, for fear Miller might end up back here. Or did they know he's moving on, so it didn't really matter.

Tom,
Ask your source about Miller sign and trade again. Portland is about ready to move on Miller.....and I hear its blake or outlaw as possibilities. They could also just sign him outright.

Will ask, but my understanding is Portland signing him without sending anybody to the Sixers is most likely. If either one would be included, I'd bet on Blake.

i hear ya but if they sign him..they got no more cap room. suppose they could move blake or outlaw for the back up big they want.

they also talked to arroyo...so if they move miller for blake..they may sign a vet min PG and have bayless be third string.

we'd take blake in a heartbeat.......

Was told Sixers expect if Miller goes to Portland, he'd be signed with the Blazers' available cap space -- and not in a sign-and-trade.

The Sixers could expect that to happen but they can't be sure of what Portland wants. After all, it's their decision.

Blazers Pondering Miller Deal?: Word is the Portland Trail Blazers may be moving in on a sign-and-trade deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and guard Andre Miller. The Blazers have roughly $7 million in cap space, but word is a sign-and trade-might be in the works to allow the Blazers to hold on to some of that space for future moves.

If we don't get Blake, I think Luther Head makes the most sens of the other guys SixersFan mentioned. He has his flaws, but he helps us address this teams biggest flaw, a lack of outside shooting. With he and kapono coming off the bench, and hopefully some internal improvment from our starters, we could become a decent three point shooting team, which will give Brand the opportunity to shine or fail.

Head would be the 3rd or 4th combo guard on the squad, if you count Willie and Jrue as combo guards which I think they are. Jrue may develop into PG. They have to sign a true PG, Arroyo or Tinsley instead of Head. But I would stay away from Tinsley. Arroyo is a good passer, and he creates for others. He has to be the choice.

Wouldn't Tinsley be a better option? Think about it. If it weren't for the baggage that he comes with, this would be a no brainer. Sign him to a 1 yr deal. He will be on his best behavior, trying to re-establish himself. I've read he is in great shape.
