He'd be good as a 10 min a game player. Count me in.

If he gets bought out I don't see how he doesn't end back up in San Antonio, unless they don't want him in the worst way, and in which case makes me think twice about bringing him in here.

why in the world would MIL buy out an expiring deal vet? they will at least wait until after the trade deadline.

and yes, he would head straight to Popovich anyway.

They save 2 million if the buy him out before the season starts. That's why they'd buy him out. That also makes it easier to re-sign Sessions.

Do not want. He has a little D in him but it doesn't override the fact he does little else.

I'm pretty sure Bowen has a rocky history with enough players to make it negligible.

Scal for Bowen works if Milwaukee's exclusively looking to save some cash. I'd consider a package of TA and Pruitt if Milwaukee wants a young guy and we don't end up moving TA.

He'd be a solid 4th wing, considering we will have Daniels taking up most of the backup minutes at the 2 and 3, he'll only have to be out there for maybe ten minutes a night.

If you do a search of Bowen on Youtube, you'll see clips of quite a few questionable incidents involving him and opposing players. For example, he recklessly "super" kicks Szczerbiak. You've to see it. He went MMA on him.

Personally, I don't want Bowen.

And if we bring Marbury back, that moves most of House's minutes to SG. So that would put Bowen as third wing off the bench behind House and Daniels. Which would probably mean a lot of DNPs for Bowen, except on nights we need him to go out for 15-20 minutes and hassle the LeBron Jameses and Kobe Bryants of the league (House can sit those nights). He'd also be a good replacement, lets face it, in those 20-25 games that Daniels will miss due to injury next year. He probably wouldn't see quite the role he is used to, but at age 38 maybe he isn't looking for that role anymore. If he is okay with it, I would have no problem letting Bowen finish his career where it started (essentially).

Marbury could also play a solid 10-15 minutes a night at SG if Daniels was out, meaning Bowen still doesn't have to play a huge role. So many of our problems would be solved if Marbury re-signed this summer...

Also, Bowen's definitely lost a huge step, but he's still solid enough defensively where at the very least he's not going to be hurting the team, because odds are he's going to be playing with 3-4 guys who can put the ball in the hole competently enough on their own.

Celticsblog.com is reporting that the Celts would be interested in Bowen. I still don't like that guy, and I think Ray Allen absolutely despises the guy. However, if he wants to come here and be a defensive stopper, then so be it.

I would have liked to have him if he was 2-3 years younger, but he's pretty old now. I'd much rather get a small forward who can play some power forward.

I haven't seen enough of Bowen recently to be able to assess how much he has left in the tank. If he can still get those old legs moving well enough to give us 15 minutes a night, I'd be in favor of signing him to a minimum contract. He would add some toughness to the bench, would give us another capable 3 point threat, and would be an excellent mentor to a young player like JR Giddens. His championship experience, along with Rasheed's, sure would give us a battle-tested lineup.

But if we do sign Bowen, it's going to leave us with a very 'mature' roster. Maybe Danny will make another run at coaxing Reggie Miller out of retirement too!

Final roster?

Rondo/Marbury
Allen/House/Walker/Giddens
Pierce/Daniels/Bowen
KG/Baby/Scal
Perkins/Sheed/Swift

Let's get on with it, then.
