Gregg's era jumped up to 4.47. We need to try and get this Bell guy. Marmol's too inconsistent and for whatever reason Gregg has just sucked this year after being fine with the Marlins. I guess it's just coming to this **** team that ruins you. **** the Cubs and **** my life. I was defending him just 10 minutes ago and then this happened.

You were defending him 10 minutes ago for what? His league leading 11 HRs given up (now 12)?

This guy **** sucks and it was clear as day in April and even more apparent now when the games really matter.

I was defending him because somehow for three years straight he was able to be a solid closer. He had a couple of good outings in a row and I thought that maybe he could get back on that former success. But this is it. This is the last straw with him. It just doesn't seem like he's had it for most of this year.

To quote Andy on NSBB "Seriously, what happened to Gregg? The Cardinals have turned Ryan Franklin into steroid-era Eric Gagne and we picked up a supposedly half-decent closer and he has been awful. No homers given up last year until Ward and he's given up 12 this year. There is no explanation anyone can give me for such a dramatic spike."

I've thought about maybe adding Smoltz but I really think he's done. It would be interesting to see how he does in the NL Central compared to the brutal AL East though.
