GM a Team 2010 - Trades & Transactions Thread

Post#1 » by roc » Tue Sep 1, 2009 11:29 pm

Welcome to the GM a Team 2010 - Trades & Transactions Thread

This thread will only be for what the thread title implies any other discussion should remain in the discussion thread.

It is very important to be aware of the rules posted here GM a Team 2010 - RULES

Just to make sure there are no questions...

1. No trades allowed unless your roster page has all player salaries for each year(including options etc.) and Team salaries for both 2010 and 2011(with and w/o options). Each roster page must be kept up to date with transactions, assets, waived players, and pick restrictions or I will not approve proposed trades. If you trade a player with a seemingly unguaranteed contract and do not reveal that some money is owed the receiving team has a right to void the deal.

Any unsigned restricted FA will be property of the team that holds his rights. Lee/Nate to NY, Sessions to MIL, etc. So teams with those players send me an offer sheet and we will hammer out a deal. Any unsigned unrestricted FA will be free game. Feel free to start sending in offers once you have all the prerequisite roster info posted.

RFAs can be signed for the QO but then they become unrestricted in 2010 and will have a cap hold unless renounced.

EDIT - ALL parties in a deal must post reasons for doing the trade. At least 1 or 2 sentences of explanation/reasoning would be nice. This will cut down the chance of getting vetoed.

All veto requests must be sent to me via email with reasons for said request included.

HAVE FUN and LET THE TRADING BEGIN!

Michael Finley $2,500,000 (just aquired in previous post)
Mikael Pietrus $5,300,000
Jameer Nelson $8,100,000

Al Thornton $1,900,200
Baron Davis $12,100,000

BTW if a deal is extremely and obviously fair I will most likely approve it as soon as I see it. If it is any bit questionable the full 12 hours will be followed to allow for veto requests. This should help speed things up a bit.

Sacramento and Chicago Have a Deal to Announce

Sacramento Sends
Francisco Garcia $5,800,000
Sacramento 2010 First

Chicago Sends
Luol Deng $10,365,000
Chicago 2011 First

Difference of $4,565,000

Sacramento is under the cap by $5,321,037
Salary Cap for the 2009-10 season will be $57.7 million
Sacramento's committed salary $52,378,963

Sacramento was very hesitant about losing this years first round pick and the chance to get John Wall but we felt that taking on Deng in the hopes that he would recover from his injuries was too good to pass up.

Bulls accept. We like Deng, but his contract was too long and big, and we also pick up what should be a high 1st round pick for next year’s draft.

And BTW, I think he said the cap will be $58,000,000.

LAC accepts the deal, i like Jameer a lot and i think Pietrus is a perfect 6th man to my team. I also dislike all the 3 players i traded and had no intention to extend Butler and while Thornton is locked on a rookie deal, Baron Davis contract is terrible.

Just a side note:

2010 second round draft pick to New York
The more favorable of Denver's 2010 2nd round pick and the L.A. Clippers' own 2010 2nd round pick to New York via Denver [Denver - L.A. Clippers, 7/15/2008 and then Denver - New York, 7/28/2008]

2010 second round draft pick to Denver
Denver has the right to swap Denver's own 2010 2nd round pick and the L.A. Clippers' own 2010 2nd round draft pick [Denver - L.A. Clippers, 7/15/2008].

this is a little confuse. I believe i owe the worse of the Denver or LAC 2nd roud pick in 2010 but i would like a confirmation since i am trading it in this deal

The Bulls and Grizzlies have come to an agreement on a deal:

CHI trades/MEM receives:

John Salmons $6,429,151
Derrick Rose $5,184,480
Tyrus Thomas $4,743,598

Total: $16,357,229

MEM trades/CHI receives:

O.J. Mayo $4,165,560
Mike Conley $3,883,800
Marc Gasol $3,333,333
Darrell Arthur $1,050,480
Rights to swap 2010 1st round picks (unprotected)

Total: $12,433,173

Works because difference in salaries = $3,914,056 and MEM has $4,743,834 in cap space

Bulls accept. It was hard to give up Rose, but we like the backcourt duo of Conley and Mayo, Gasol is a solid young post player to pair with Noah, and we may be able to jump up in the 2010 draft.

Portland Trail Blazers General Manager has announced that he has comes to terms on a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the 8-player trade, the Blazers will acquire the hometown kid Kevin Love, along with rookie Jonny Flynn, veteran small forward Ryan Gomes, and reserve big man Ryan Hollins. In return, the Blazers will send to the Timberwolves former number one overall pick Greg Oden, along with small forward Travis Outlaw, and young guards Rudy Fernandez and Jerryd Bayless.

Portland is very high on both Jonny Flynn and Kevin Love. GM klomp44 said in his Tuesday afternoon press conference that he feels both players will fit well with the direction he wants to go in Portland. In addition, Gomes is an upgrade over Outlaw, and he feels that Hollins has loads of untapped potential.

Minnesota Timberwolves accept. It was hard to part with Flynn and Love so early on but this was a deal that was good for me. I don't think Love and Jefferson works as Love isn't known to be a defender in the paint. I needed a defensive big to pair up with Jefferson and Oden is that man. Losing Jonny hurts but I get back a much needed starting SG in Rudy and pick up a replacement young PG in Bayless. With Flynn out of the picture, Rubio will be happy and will sign to play now since he is guranteed the starting PG spot and Rudy is a fellow countrymen. I hated Gomes and got rid of his contract for an expiring but yet talented Outlaw.

Memphis accepts this deal. We couldn't pass up the chance to bring Rose back to Memphis. Rose/Gay/Thomas should make us one of the premier ssol teams in the league.

The Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors have come to terms on a 4-player deal.

Portland Receives:
Andris Biedrins - 9,000,000
CJ Watson - 1,000,497
-----------------------------------
Total - 10,000,497

Golden State Receives:
LaMarcus Aldridge - 5,844,827
Steve Blake - 4,000,000
------------------------------------------
Total - 9,844,827

The Portland Trail Blazers accept this deal. While it may seem like a talent downgrade at the surface, its not by much, and we are doing this to fill a position of need. Biedrins is the perfect complement to our new power forward Kevin Love. Watson is a younger, cheaper backup at point guard. Either way, Blake and Watson would both be third stringers, so this way I can save a little money there.

Golden State accepts. We think Aldridge is a great compliment to our perimeter threats, and can run the floor as well as any big man out there, making him a great fit in our fast-paced offense. We are also confident that we can re-sign him to a fair deal. Blake is more of a true point-guard than Watson, and we feel he will be a better backup.

Neither team has met the rules laid down for their roster page. Please finish adding all the required info and then post on here that you have done so. Once I am satisfied with both roster pages the deal will be allowed.

The rules are right in the OP of this thread so no excuses.

LAC is good to go but Orlando has to complete there roster page as does SAS since this trade is contingent on that one.

Once that has been ironed out, I will approve this deal.
