David Carr?

Post#1 » by Wade3Iverson » Mon Apr 2, 2007 7:45 am

So where do you guys see him going? Where should he go?

I think he would fit well with the Vikings. They desperately need a QB and he would be paired up with a solid D.

Thought?

All I know is, he's lucky as heck to get out of Houston. It could add a few years to his career.

Carolina makes sense too. Delhomme has been 'meh' and they could probably use a good QB controversy there to get some stability at the position.

They have all the pieces if they can get consistent QB play.

Quote me if you need to, cause I guarantee if David Carr is the starting quarterback in Minnesota he will make the Pro-Bowl.

Carr will probably want to go somewhere where he will be starting, and getting his chance to shine.

Minnesota is a likely candidate. If McNabb's injury is serious, Philly might want Carr as insurance since they lost Garcia, but I don't know if that's what Carr is looking for.

Carolina would be the best fit I think, but that'll probably be too good to be true as someone else alluded to.

The Raiders may have some interest here.

I'm sure David is more concerned about his line of protection than about the defense.

I'm really surprised somebody doesn't have Carr yet. I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. I think if you give him a line he would do just fine.

Carr is a backup at best in this league. I believe a big reason he was sacked so much was because of his poor pocket awareness.

I still believe that Carr could be one of those guys that just needs a new start and can still have success as a starter in the NFL.

I don't know if I'd say he'll be a pro bowler, but he could certainly be a winner.

I hope for his sake he doesn't go to Oakland though. Minnesota would be a much better fit and he'd have a much better chance at success.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't either but Romo made the Pro-Bowl last year. The NFC QB position is really weak right now.

I agree 100%

He'll sign somewhere as a backup because he has shown nothing that would imply he is capable of being a starter. I dont think he will be in the league much longer

Honestly, I think he may be better suited at being a career back-up at best. I blame a majority of his woes on Casserly and Capers because they should

Carr had a very good visit with Carolina on Tues., hits Seattle on Wed. and will visit Minnesota on Friday.

He's going to be a backup in 2007 whether he likes it or not. Carolina is a potentially great fit because if he shows anything at all, he could be anointed "starter of the future" and take over when Delhomme retires or regresses.

Dredging an old topic...

Carr now has his shot. The Panthers line is okay, he's got Steve Smith, he's got a decent running game most of the time, he's got a defense with enough ability to cover a bad turnover or two. If he can't get this team to the playoffs, I have to think he's relegated to "bust" status and will be the next Trent Dilfer, sans Super Bowl ring.

And now he's been usurped by Vinny Green Balls, who looked pretty darn good winning at Arizona in the battle of street FA QBs.
