Being in Dallas against an underacheiving Portland team (granted their center is out for the year), Dallas should win this game. Hopefully Dirk can come back for this one though just to make it easier on everyone.

'Underachieving' is a pretty strong word. Our injuries have held us back more than anything at this point. That said, I do agree that this is a win for the Mavericks. We might as well write an L in the book right now because Portland never beats Dallas. I'd rather play LA at the staples center than Dallas at the Rose Garden at this point.

Dirk will be a game time decison. I bet he plays!

Mavs favored to win by Dallas 4.5 points.

so we get dirk back and no one can get an easy basket? Seems like the guys are trying to cruise it a little tonight. Defense is showing some good signs. But O is just bad. hope they get it together in the 2nd half. dirk seems a little tentative with the elbow. i don't blame him. but if he can't do it whose gonna take it to the hole-get to the line-and get this game under control. thinking carlisle could change it up to start the 2nd half.

If we lose this one it's because of Carlisle's feel for always breaking up lineups that work great and creating some that have trouble scoring and/or defending well. 3rd Q was awesome... then he subbed out the size advantage...

If only it was that easy.

On the other hand one night he will be cold and all of a sudden during another game he will contribute to the win.

Well I'd say it's rather 3 games off and one on fire...

negative POG: Jet; fault of the night: Carlisle not giving that 3rd Q lineup much burn in the 4th

Even though JJ got 22points, 5assist, 3 three, he could not give mavs plus in Kidds abscence...again.

styLesdavis wrote:Barea is at first a scoring pg with no sense of getting people involved. Say what you want but if JJ is scoring lots of points early in the game nobody else would be in his rhythm.

This is his post on DAL-HOU board.

But watching tonights game, I cannot agree with him more.

JJ got over 20pt three times in this season and Mavs are 1w-2l.

Who would have thought our offense would become like this... Unreal. Our offense never been more inconsistent, at least not in the last couple of years. Turnovers, missed easy opportunities, cold shooting nights... Let's think about this way. At least our FO will stay awake, and they will know we need one more major piece. We just need more help if we really wanna win. Marion made our D a lot better. Now get somebody who can give us back our offensive identity.

If mavs had hit half of their missed FTs, they would have won. Very ugly game.

Horrible effort by the Mavs. The Mavwrecks couldn't capitalize on the centerless Blazers. Sad. The players ought to donate their paycheck to charity for the crappy team effort they put up last night.
The Mavericks are a much better team than they showed last night.

Kidd 1-6/ 3/6/6
Marion 0-7/ 0/6/0
Terry 2-13/ 8/1/4
Thomas 0-3/ 0/0/0
Gooden 2-7/ 5/6/2

Horrible veteran play by these guys. 5 of 36 shooting and 16 points is unacceptable by these veteran stars. I hope they got their@ss chewed out big time. Do they suck that bad or is Portland just that good defensively. They should all be benched next game. We can get that kind of crappy production from Carroll and Ross.
