Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Signups
This is from one of the previous games
The Detroit Pistons have announced that they have resigned Andrew Bynum
1st year - 14mil
2nd year - 15.4 mil
3rd year - 16.8 mil
4th year - 18.2 mil
5th year - 19.6 mil ETO
6th year - 21.2 mil
like honestly guys, give me a break! Bynum and 14 mil? thats just insane. Abusing the cap space is one thing and being just a little more realistic is another.
I can mention more signings like that but lets just end this right here. I am looking for a happier result this time lol and i m staying till the end.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Signups
we are a long way from FA period. I have thought about it quite a bit and have an idea of what im going to do. Some people will hate it, others may love it. some players will get overpaid, some wont. its just the way the game goes.
I will also be doing FA period a little different than the Free for all that it has been.
when a player is offered a deal it will be made ALMOST Public.
A rumour will be placed in the Free Agency thread that x player is rumoured to be in contract negotiations. No team or money amount will be given.
my reasoning behind this is that, some players who are not top tear free agents get lowballed for like 2 million a season when they deserve 5 million just because people are offering big name players max deals only. If the player does not get a deal i feel they deserve I may just have them go to Europe for 5 million a season and whoever had them can keep their rights.

^If its within the limits and they have enough to do that, isn't that their right?
Personally I would alter my judgments accordingly to take into consideration that unreasonable deal, though in terms of rankings.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Signups
That was my contract from 3 games ago I believe and it wasn't one that I offered him it was one I had to match if I wanted to keep my team together. I wasn't happy about it but it was what it was. That and other contracts were part of the reasons I tried to cut down on the outrageous offers during my tenure as commish. Unfortunately they can not be gotten rid of altogether as GMs with cap space will try and use it how they see fit. It is the nature of the beast.
I did win the Eastern Conference rebuild in that game though and you may have done even better last go round if you had stuck it out.

yes factoring in player salaries into rankings is very important. However, like I said somewhere. This time the votes may be by people outside the game. GMs may also get to vote as well
seems a lot of the time people scroll to the depth-chart of the roster and not the actual salaries so it does not get factored in.

Another very good idea that I love...

Again I know my post count sort of disqualifies me, but I am browsing this forum.
you may chose a team, its first come first served. If players are finding you are not replying to their emails or seem to have disappeared you will be replaced. Everyone is welcome to play and post count is not everything, one guy who signed up on the raptors board posted 130 times the first day. Dosen't mean he was reading the board for the next 3 weeks after that.
Indiana would be the team I would love to GM for.

Game is Full, you have 72 hours to get your roster up from right now. If it is not up by then you will be kicked out of the game.

Forgive my (possible) stupidity, where do you want the roster uploading to?
