is this going to affect the game at all?

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... forecasts/
The NBA sent a memo to teams last July warning of a decline in the cap to a figure between $50.4 million and $53.6 million for the 2010-2011 season. But revenues could be on pace for the 2010 cap to be above $54 million and perhaps closer to this season's cap of $57.7 million.

+1 Don't ever go on there again. It went from something good to probably the worst thing you could ever see on a chat.

no, i wont change the cap now. It was set at 54 million so that teams could decide what they wanted to do.

In the market for a PF, preferably elite or young, on a rookie deal, with great upside.

There will be contract extensions

they will be decided upon by myself, sterncohen, skorf, and DGrangeRx33 and it may take several days before we decide on it.

Also, once a player has signed a contract extension he cannot be traded.

Makes sense that there will be no trades, but can there be immediate sign and trade deals with no further trades?

Houston has the following players availiable:

Carlos Boozer: we REALLY want to keep him but are scared to death of the possibility of losing him. He is our franchise guy, and we want him here, just scared a team will throw something rediculous at him.

Tayshaun Prince: I need a young defense SF who can shoot just like him in a deal for him

John Salmons: Fair value, love him on our bench though.

Basically want to keep Parker/Smith together so anyone else can be had.

get at me

While I would like to do this. e.g Garnett signed a extension and was traded. Im not sure it will be needed, if the player is going to sign an extension with that team then that team he goes to can ask for it afterwards. Contract extensions wont be eligible to be signed until probably the middle of February so that we have an idea of what directions teams are headed.

also remember that the team that holds a players rights can always offer the most money in FA, and you will be given fair chance on signing your own free agents.

As i said before, you will all be notified when a player has received a contract offer. Also I may do individual emails to the teams that the players are from, kinda like an agent would do letting you know that someone has made an offer that is acceptable and give you time to offer more.

Miami is still looking to make some deals. Almost everyone is available (except Wade and A.Brooks)

2010 Houston 1st, 2010 N.O. 1st, 2010 Miami 1st, 2010 Toronto 1st (protected) all are available.

as well as the EXP contracts of JO ($23,016,000), Haslem ($7,100,000), D.Fisher ($5,048,000),
Morrison ($5,257,229), CQ ($1,050,387), C.Arroyo ($825,497)

also have Chuck Hayes, J.Dudley, D.Collison, S.Ibaka, and Taj Gibson (I really value him)

I am not afraid to take on salary if it is a good enough player

looking for a starting SF, PF or C, but will listen to everything

I'd figure I would give everyone an update where I stand on my players.

Louis Williams - He's on a very team friendly contract as he's making about the MLE, a little below it actually, but has been productive. Willing to move him, but not going to just take any regular deal for him.

D.J. Augustin - I'm really high on him, so he's not going to come cheap. To get him, you are going to have to get a point guard prospect I like better.

Michael Redd - While he probably is overpaid, he is still a very good shooting guard in the league despite the last two years. Moving him is a priority because he's got no future in Indianapolis.

Quentin Richardson - Like the fact that he is expiring, so I'm not going to take on a contract past next year for him. You'll also need to add some incentive because I have absolutely no motivation to move him. I'm not saying I want an elite prospect, but at least something that adds value.

Kyle Weaver - Being a Thunder fan on the side, I liken this guy to Thabo Sefolosha. Good defender who could develop into a nice solid role player. On an extremely cheap contract.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. - Makes about 9 million the next two years, still a pretty good player, not a great one. Slightly overpaid, but looking to move him much like Michael Redd.

Anthony Randolph - Probably the guy I'm least likely to move, looks like a young Kevin Durant to me, so you really need to wow me to get him from me.

James Jones - Has an unguaranteed contract, so there is value in trades. Again, more value to a contender than he is to me.

Earl Clark - High upside guy that I really like, willing to move him for a better prospect, i.e. Quentin Richardosn and Earl Clark for someone else.

Marresse Speights - Like him a lot, will need a better PF prospect for me to even consider him.

Tyler Hansbrough - I'm pretty sure he is the perfect sixth man especially to bring me off the bench after Speights or Roy Hibbert. Again, not looking to move him, but will in the right deal.

Brandan Wright - Still a good deal of upside, but injuries derailed his career thus far. A great prospect in his own right.

Roy Hibbert - I'm insanely high on him, and I'm not sure there is a center prospect who combines his amount of upside with his great cap flexibility. You will have to wow me to get him.

Robin Lopez - Really see him much like Tyler Hansbrough. Has huge defense potential, but his offensive game is quite a bit behind. Still could turn into a very good player.

Jason Smith - Good player on a cheap contract, perfect cap filler.

So in summary:

Untouchable: None
Nearly Untouchable: SF Anthony Randolph, C Roy Hibbert
Hard To Get: PG D.J. Augustin, PF Marresse Speights, PF Tyler Hansbrough, C Robin Lopez
Trade Block: SG Michael Redd, SG/SF Mike Dunleavy
Trade Chips: SG Quentin Richardson, SF James Jones, PF/C Jason Smith

Lou Williams should be moveable, since you're probably getting John Wall with that group.
