ATL/BOS/NJ Deal.
We grab one of the Free Agents we want early and sign him to an extension. This will help us bring in another FA like a Bosh/Amare/LeBron since we will be in Newark (the arena is sick) but it's not as glamorous as Brooklyn will be. We lose Courtney Lee and guys we were going to let go anyway as well as two picks. But, we keep our goals in tact and grab a star that is under the radar when it seems like LeBron and Wade might not come here.
Boston gets rid of Ray Allen and grabs a nice pick, a young gun, and expirings. So they lose Allen for the rest of the year (who was playing poorly and on his last legs and gain Courtney Lee, the 30th pick, and expirings).
Atlanta grabs an expiring contract and two picks for Joe Johnson who they were going to lose most likely anyway. They were going to lose JJ anyway and they grab picks #24, #25, and a huge expiring, in addition to pick #26 they currently have. This way they don't lose anything if they realize JJ is gone and have major cap room and major assets in the first round. They can wheel and deal and build around Josh Smith, Bibby, Crawford, and the new blood they draft and bring in via Trades/FA.
This works for each team. What do you think?
Since this deal can't add picks.
The Nets send the Mavericks pick to Atlanta (2010 First round pick #24).
The Nets send the Celtics our second round pick this year which is essentially a 1st round pick (pick 30).
The Celtics send their first round pick to Atlanta mid twenties (#25).
