I'm going Micheal Ray Richardson here.

With the Allen addition, it's obvious, we still lacked an 80's SG, and for the minutes to be distributed evenly, it would have to be a combo guard. While we know, MRR was more a PG, we feel with his size (6'5, BR actually lists him as a G/F), and defensive prowess, he could easily, and effectively play the position for the limited minutes he'll be there. His one year peak provides elite rebounding from the G position, terrific passing, and explosive scoring. His range isn't much a factor, but with the likes of Allen, Lucas, Barry, and even Paul, shooting isn't as great a need.

We originally were planning on pairing a DJ sort next to Paul. Here, we feel we get the next best thing, a similar player that provides a nice all round game, elite defense, and a strong attacking game to the hole, and from mid-range.

I'm taking Ralph Sampson. runs like David Robinson or even faster, has great size, can block Kareem's skyhook so he can guard him effectively, excellent passer and shotblocker. he's a lot like Bill Walton with his game. lack of agressiveness and commitment were the areas people were always concerned about but I feel like having already Magic it won't be much of an issue.

btw. I though someone had taken Mitch Richmond before Warspite :-?

I'm choosing Duncan's great playing buddy and natural-born winner in 6-2, 180 PG from France - Tony Parker!

His 2006/07 season: 18,6 PPG on .520/.395/.783 shooting/3,2 RPG/5,5 APG/0,1 BPG/1,1 SPG.

It was really tough to decide on a big here, but I'll take Pau Gasol. He's proved the doubters wrong with the soft label and his dominant playoff performance last year is what gave him the edge over guys who have similar/better regular season stats (Gasol: 18.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2 blocks off 58% FG en route to an NBA Championship).

Andrei Kirilenko was/is a fantastic defender, and versatile as well, a top shot blocker for his position (and period), and can fill lanes on the fast break. Nice contrast to Dale Ellis, and quite the player in a one year peak.

The Tall Firs select:

Image

1990-91 - 17.0/3.5/8.0/2.0, .515/.415/.823

We were looking at several point guards to team with Cooper and we felt that Porter was easily the best all-around option for us. He's great with the ball as a playmaker but also great without it. He can shoot the lights out and gets hot during the most important games. We also like his defensive ability, team-first attitude, and mental/physical toughness.

The Tall Firs select:

Image

1994-95 - 19.2/6.2/3.8/1.1, .523/.514/.839

When considering our third bench guy, "The European Larry Bird's" eye-popping '95 season makes the most sense to us. His three point percentage and offensive rating are both top ten all time in that year, good indicators that he can be an important and highly effective cog in our machine. His offensive versatility and ability to create a mismatch for whoever is on him also sold us. Of course, Schrempf is also a deft passer and playmaker when he needs to be. Another fine all-around piece.

We also may change this to his 19/9/6.5 '93 season depending on the match up.

Pete "Pistol" Maravich one of my favorite all time players was a great scorer, and ball handler who scored at will.
