What do you think Sarver/Kerr would think of a deal based around Tyrus & Brad Miller + 1st rd pick & exprirings we just got from the Bucks for Salmons to fill in the rest to make it work cap-wise....??? Is that better than not trading him at all??

Check my trade above. Would the Bulls agree to it ? :-?

It's definitely intriguing. I might do it. I'm not sure if the Bulls would do it as I'm not sure if it would leave enough cap space. The Bulls seem set on trying to get the hometown back court (Rose & Wade), so they need that cap flexibility. While trading Salmons for expirings gives us enough for one max, this trade would take away from that as it trades all expirings except James Johnson, and Jefferies gets paid considerably more.

Granted I think Wade will move in a s&t if he moves, but having Jefferies, Hinrich, and Deng on pricey deals may not be too ideal. Especially if Wade resigns, because that means the Bulls will go after Joe Johnson who doesn't require a s&t.

Plus I don't want to help the knicks

Anyone else notice Jermaine O'Neal left the Nets-Heat game prior to Wade straining his calf?

Meh Hill and Hickson will likely be role players off the bench for their careers. I watched Hill a lot at UA and never understood how he could be a lottery pick.

If tonight wasn't evidence enough, our front office should be working HARD to dump Jrich for one of those deals like Z or anything expiring. Take junk. That way we can keep Amare.

I wouldn't go that far but they have about the same worth. Chi pick is the best part of the trade.

Agreed on the pick. But ive watched a lot of Hill, and around 10 games of Hicksons. Although I opposed the Hickson deal, hes still a hell of a lot better prospect than Hill. Jordan Hill WILL be a bust, call it a hunch.

No it doesnt. Pretty much if they didnt do that Salmons trade, they would be paying for both Salmons/Jeffries. They trade Salmons for an expiring, and then replace his contract for Jeffries. So the go from Salmons 6 mill next year to Jeffries 6 mill, not both (as would have been the case if they didnt trade Salmons). I know it sounds confusing, but once you understand it, you will see why the Bulls/Bucks trade actually helps my deal! :D

I'd be willing to take on Jeffries' contract if it meant getting more picks. Overpaid? Yes, but his contract expires next year so it's not too bad. Seeing as how there are no takers for JRich, we won't be much of a factor in FA this summer anyway.

Of all the teams we have dealt with in regards to Amare... I'd like to see him benefit the sixers, bulls.... then maybe the heat, and lastly the cavs.

That's pretty much how I rank the coolness of their users.

Sixers and Bulls fans don't bother me at all.

The heat mildly annoy me with how the value a player their coach seems to never trust and will never let blossom.
The cavs posters irritate m the most.

I'm all for Wade going to the Bulls with Bosh. Then Lebron and Amare going to the Knicks. That way all these people saying, we will get him in the summer blah blah can cry a river.

If the Suns were able to dump JRich for an expiring it would have been done long ago.

The point of trading salmons was to get under the cap enough for 1 max free agent. Getting Jefferies for James Johnson (and other expirings) adds back on and would likely be too much. Not to mention jefferies is set to make about a mill more than salmons next season (assuming both opt-in of course). So the bulls would just be looking to get rid of Jefferies similar to how the knicks are now.

I feel sorry the most for GSW and Sixer fans because their GM's/Owners all seem equally inept as our own at times.

Granted, Kerr and Sarver get a boost for not doing the Cleveland trade.

NYK gets: Tyrus
CHI gets: Amare/Jefferies
PHX gets: Hill/Johnson/Miller/CHI 1st/NYK 2nd

:D

It makes sense right?

NY gets the PF Dantoni wants (Tyrus) and they finally get rid of Jeffries contract.

CHI gets Amare to help lure Wade in as a FA. They take on Jeffries (expiring next year), but its ok since they just dumped Salmons (which killed the McGrady trade).

PHX gets 2 promising (JJ Hickson potential) rookie PF's. Hill was the guy that GS was supposed to draft for us in the GS draft debacle. Johnson was a guy we were looking at drafting (we worked him out more then any other prospect before the draft), but we selected Clark as he was supposed to have been drafted before us. Miller gives us a big expiring and we get 1, maybe 2 draft picks.

:D :D :D

I appreciate you trying to figure out ways to get Amare to Chicago. Unfortunately, the above deal wouldn't work for Chicago. We would have $37 million committed next year including Jeffries but not including Amare (if we traded Johnson as part of your proposed deal). Amare is a $17+ million cap hold, which means zero money left for any other free agents. We wouldn't even be able to sign the minimum number of players to fill out the roster. Jeffries kills it.

JRich for Big Z?
JRich & LB for Ray Allen
JRich for Simmons
JRich for Miller & Blatche

Take your pick...

We lost but Amare put up 30 and 14 with 3 blks... On national TV. Plus Wade hurt his leg, left the game and is wearing a boot. Wouldn't be surprised if the Heat deal goes down soon.

Most of the Cavs fans that have been real annoying will just be converted to Knicks fans. They had no fanbase before LeBron and will lose the current one if he leaves.

I really hope they don't hold onto him because he's going to opt out and the Suns will end up not getting anything for him...

True. But seems like all they've done is try to package him with Amare.

Hopefully they can trade him early summer as an expiring and then extend Amare

Because Amare was the most valuable asset they had. Trying to move him without Amare would be 100x more difficult without taking back a worse contract like Brand or something.
