just a reminder, you have to send in an email if you are NOT picking up a Team Option on player.

Also anyone with a partially Guaranteed deal. e.g Carlos Delfino has to be cut before the end of Feb 28th.

that is not true, pretty sure Josh Howards team option does not need to be decided on til after FA (that was why the mavs wanted to keep him to use him in a S&T then the team could waive him, same thing goes for Dampier)

I do believe Delfino's contract stats that he needs a decision before FA starts (june 30th) but others like Damp and JHo can be waived after FA starts and up to the start of the season ("completly unguauranteed", partial guarantees have deadlines

from CBA

All contracts with player options contain a clause that indicates whether the player receives his salary for the option year in the event he is waived prior to invoking his option.

Options have a window of time during which they may be exercised. The specific opening and closing dates of this window are a matter of individual negotiation, except in the following circumstances:

* For team options in Rookie Scale contracts, the window opens on the day following the July Moratorium and closes on October 31* of the calendar year prior to the year the option takes effect.
* If the contract contains a clause stating that the player does not receive his salary for an option year if he is waived prior to exercising his option, then the window cannot open sooner than the day following the team's last game of the season.
* The window for players who will be restricted free agents can close no later than June 25 of the year the option takes effect (an earlier date may be specified as a matter of individual negotiation).
* The window for all other options can close no later than June 30 of the year the option takes effect (an earlier date may be specified as a matter of individual negotiation).

I wonder if Marc Cuban knows this considering all the statements are that he was holding on to Eric Dampier's 100% unguaranteed deal to use as a sign and trade chip to try and get JJ or Wade

i honestly dont know how dampiers works because his is based on production, he can make 10 million but he hasnt produced the stats to get the deal...but his contract states he can get that much so i guess it value is the 10 million even though theres no way he can actually ever get it.

I.E - Exp+Nick Young = Ginobili

Exp+ Robin Lopez = Camby

neither do I, but he was saying the exact same thing about Howard before he was traded. Not really a big deal, but could be useful chip

If I may chime in, I found this on ShamSports:

Last season is fully unguaranteed, which becomes full guaranteed if

1) Dampier is selected to play in any three NBA All-Star Games between the 2004-2005 and 2009-2010 seasons, (Did not do)

or

2) Dampier plays at least 2,100 minutes in the 70 regular season games in the 2009-2010 season in which he plays his most minutes and if he plays in less than 70 regular season games in the 2009-2010 season, then he must play at least 2,100 minutes for the entire regular season. (Has already missed 17 games, so the most he can play is in 65. In the 39 games he has played, he has been in the game for 1,027 minutes.)

Willing to part with Gomes, JO, Hayes and perhapd Brewer and Sessions to get some upgrades.

Not afraid to entertain the idea of moving some picks or Rubio either. Be warned that Rubio is being treated as a top tier trade bit though.

Looking to ship out Derek Fisher's expirer & CHA 2nd / CLE 2nd for a guard (either PG or SG), don't mind taking on salary beyond 2010.

Speaking of your roster...

You have 16 players listed ATM and removed the salary of James Jones. Jones was partially guaranteed for a couple more years after this one. That salary should be listed on your roster page.

Final three years are only partially guaranteed ($1,856,000, $1,984,000, and $2,112,000 respectively) but become fully guaranteed if Jones is not waived on or before 6/30/2010.

Jamaal Tinsley was bought out, hence the sixteenth guy on my roster. I'll update James Jones though.
