It's been forever and a day since we could say that. The win over the Oilers was pretty nice. Tangible intangibles. The old dog defenseman who never shows up on a score sheet seals the deal at the end and the goalie who would be a legit NHL starter for a team who hasn't had one in forever rests his case.
Quick's legit. He has a knack for the big play and stays pretty steady. He's been player of the week multiple times, he's a shootout stud, and even if he doesn't rank in the top ten for save % or GAA he has a feel for the game that winners have that goes beyond stats but shows up in the W column. We're not playing the kind of D in front of him that we did last year or he'd be a league star.
So who knows how long we stay in first, but it's safe to say we won't likely miss the playoffs. It's fun to watch this team. I'm a happy fan.
