That's great news.

That second part was for the Caps....sorry.

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to send Ted some emails asking him to make sure that Ernie is prevented from selling or trading our picks. Thoughts?

Edit: The last known update from Ted (From the Bog)

Continuing the effort to record every last utterance Ted Leonsis makes about his potential purchase of the Wizards, here's the Caps owner's Monday morning appearance on the Junkies.

"I watched the Wizards game last night," he noted. "I was very pleased. It didn't go the team's way at the end, but boy, young kids, lots of energy, playing with heart and passion. We're in very productive conversations with the Pollin family and estate and I won't change my messaging: we already own 44 percent, we have lots of rights, the conversations are positive. And I'm expecting that sometime, hopefully soon, we'll be announced as the majority owners of the team, and we'll do our best to continue to build a team that everyone's proud of."

I think the curse will be removed from the Wizards as-soon as the Pollin's have nothing to do with this team.

Just got a text from Washington Post saying Ted has reached an agreement to buy the Wiz + Verizon Center. Sounds like 550 is the number.

Praise the Lord. I can only hope that the curse of the Boulez/Wizards may finally end.

If this is true, it is potential the best news about the franchise since gangly Mitch Kupchak ran down the court in celebration in Seattle.

In fact, you might argue it is the only good news given how tempered every other bit of seemingly positive news has been by the assumption that the Pollin family would find a way to screw up even good things.

I might even change my user name.

Suh wheet!!!

The odds of the Wiz getting a top 3 pick have just sky-rocketed.

About freaking time!!!!!

The best part is that now Leonsis has time to assume full control and clean house before the draft. I was getting worried that he wouldn't get control until after we had another draft under Grunfeld - memo to Teddy no more selling 2nd round picks and trading lottery picks. Thanks.

jimij: Unless, that is, we somehow manage to nab the 1st overall pick (or maybe even the 2nd). Then the choice is not too hard for EG. Wall, then Turner.

Of course, I've been wrong before.

HOT DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how long before we clean house!!!!!

Thank God we'll actually have some leadership & direction by this offseason.

Hopefully that kills any thoughts of us resigning Howard or Miller or throwing money at Al Harrington and we can begin a real rebuild.

Me also thinks Flip should see the same door EG, Tommy Sheppard & Milt Newton all should being walking through shortly!

Hopefully Ted changes the Wizards logo and colors similar to what he did with the Capitals. Having red outs at Wiz games would be sweet.
