Which is not to say he couldn't be right. Read Windhorst article on your new espnnewyork.com where he talks about the Cleveland LeBron and the New York LeBron. I think it's a pretty fair and balanced article.

Then consider that later, Windhorst (who knows Cavs and LeBron probably better than any writer) feels more confident LeBron stays with Cavs.

Personally I would be shocked if he signs without doing the FA tour and I'd be more concerned someone offers Lee a deal 1 minute in and puts Walsh in the box while LeBron takes a couple weeks to make his intentions known.

But please...step away from the ledge.

Walsh will not let DLee get in the way of "the chance" to sign LeBron. DLee's camp knows this was ALL about LeBron from 2 years ago. If DLee actually agrees and signs minutes into free agency then he didn't want to be here for the turnaround anyway. I believe that's how Walsh will look at this situation as well.

Btw, I think most teams will look to contact CB4, Amare, and Boozer before giving DLee a deal the first day of Free Agency. :D

NOONE CAN SIGN ON DAY ONE. There is a moratorium. Of course someone can offer Lee a deal on day one but we'll have a week to get in there and keep him, if we so desired. So, no the Knicks will not lose on anyone during the first week, we will talk to everyone and have an idea of where to put our energies.

You know, interpretation in matters like this is up to the discretion of the board mod (which, voila, I is). So yeah, the intention is going to be ultimately based on interpretation (just as a warning).

As far as Windhorst goes, he's not exactly been the most objective reporter around. In fact he'd be perfect as a poster on the Cavs board to give you an idea of how not objective he is.

So, LBJ might be off the market?

Let the Plan B threads begin again!

Sign JJ/Roy and Bosh/Amare, trade Chandler for Biedrins, buy a pick, draft a PG, keep Walker and Barron, sign TMac for the Minimum.

Biedrins/Barron
Bosh(Amare)/Gallo
Gallo/Walker
JJ(Roy)/TMac
Douglas/Pick

If you cannot get two of the above, take one and let Curry expire 2011 and try to get Melo.

:) I appreciate the concern but no need to worry. I think this is the greatest free-agent story ever and I love every minute of it. But in the end, I'm a realist. And it is after all just sports. As a Knick fan, what else can we be but realists?!?

If it's meant to be, LeBron will build a dynasty in NYC. If not, the plot thickens. Either way, it'll be interesting.

That's just the thing -- he's very much still on the market. This is not a great source and most likely, there's nothing new here at all. I'd say it's no better than this story, which I didn't even bother posting although it was only a couple of days ago:

LeBron James as a New York Knick this summer is all but a done deal—at least according to one business partner.

According to sources who were in attendance for a recent meeting Monster Cable Products Inc. held with their business partners, one top executive firmly stated that LeBron James would be a New York Knick.

The executive works directly with celebrities including Dr. Dre, Lady Gaga, and yes—LeBron James.

During a presentation in which the executive showcased a slideshow of all the celebrities he personally works with, a picture of LeBron with New York City in the background came up on the giant projection screen. The executive emphatically said "He [LeBron James] is going to be a Knick next season. I know that for a fact].

LeBron works with Monster and their division that develops the famous Beats by Dre headphones.

The one telling sign about the anonymous is executive is the fact that he is not a New Yorker. He is based in Los Angeles and has season tickets to Lakers games. He does not any affiliation with New York whatsoever, so count out the potential East Coast/NY bias.

Yet, he does have a working and personal relationship with LeBron James.

Between LeBron's love for MSG, the Yankees, and New York City in general, this is yet another, albeit not-so-subtle sign, that points to him donning a Knicks jersey.

Of course, the only one that truly knows what LeBron is really thinking is LeBron himself, but recent history has certainly given us some indication. Or has it?

This radio guy also says LeBron is leaving after the next contract. lol

I don't think either of these things are solid. If he stays, he's probably staying for good.

But I honestly don't think LeBron has made a decision and I also think that he's likely to tell people what they want to hear. I don't doubt that this guy had somebody tell him something positive about LBJ staying. But I don't think the source could know anything -- since LeBron doesn't know anything.

If he's made up his mind, he'd sign the extension tomorrow. Absolutely no reason to wait.

Once the ink hits the paper though:

The only positive is that no Lebron most likely means that we'll keep Lee and that would make me happy.

It's make no sense to give JJ/Amare/Bosh the max to be average. Also we couldn't anyway, since we wouldn't have enough money to have JJ/Bosh/Biedrins on the same team. I rather start taking on salary in exchange for picks/young talent.

Can Bosh play C? If yes, I would love Lee, JJ, Bosh.

If no, I would prefer, Lee, JJ, Any 7 foot defensive minded C we can find and then another piece or two.

Let the buffet begin/

Pretty much, I am of the opinion that the cap room is fine even if we do not land Lebron. There are ample players available next summer 2011 as well such as cp3 and Carmello. It is not a huge deal if we only sign one stud fa, preferably Bosh.

I dont buy it. Theres so much that dont make sense. This would be the biggest story out of all the extensions. Yet this guy is the only one to have it? Rumors of a extension leaked to him because he followed LBJ from high school? Sounds like a reason to make people believe him.

IDK but I would expect BSPN to be all over this if it was more then local radio host talk.
